Got it, thanks for the reassurance. This is such a big purchase, I'm just nervous with all the changes. And I think by the time I actually order and mine gets built, Kermit will also be gone.

I was ready and excited to pull the trigger on a PC this year, but I have to admit I have concerns about all the turnover and loss of 'historical knowledge'. I fear I am about a year too late to ensure a quality unit and service after the sale through the warranty period. I hope I'm wrong, but it does have me investigating my secondary brand choices... and that means I may have to take a 'cookie cutter' unit with no personal modifications... and that sucks.

I'm sure you're familiar, but any visit to northern Michigan should include Macinaw Island.... no vehicles are allowed but a day spent biking or walking or on a carriage ride there is fabulous.

Thanks everyone for the comments... I knew I was not inclined to buy the Mercedes, as I will be traveling in remote areas and have driven Ford trucks for 40 years, but it was good to hear other opinions.

Could I ask those with a PC on the Mercedes Sprinter... how much have you traveled and have you had any problems finding service if you needed it?  Am debating going with a smaller model, and I am concerned about that vs the Ford.  Thanks.

Oops, sorry...  I just heard about it from my local rv dealer who is picking them up. (Still can't find anything I like better than the PC... continuing to watch how the next few units come out quality-wise.)

For information only.... just found out that Nexus is changing their business model...as of September 1 they are only selling to dealers.  I believe they were the only other company willing to make customizations, and they will no longer be offering that.  I don't know if this means they're doing great and need to make/sell more or if it means they're in trouble... rep said they're doing it "to keep up with the big boys".  They did have a pretty good customer satisfaction record.  Just fyi for anyone interested...

Yeah, it's becoming pretty evident that you may or may not get a quality coach from this company anymore...sorry about your problems and am also disappointed, as I was excited about getting a customized coach, but I think it's time to consider another brand.  At least then the cost difference may make up for any of their inadequacies.

I think I should stop following this forum... New units with bad toilets, awnings that don't open properly, and slide out leaks.... I'm starting to get worried about my decision to order a PC.  Perhaps they are going the way of other companies or close to closing...

Well, really? This thread disappoints me..... over $100K and the awnings don't work right?  I think I'll ask about a different brand or have one installed elsewhere after buying.

I'm curious about this, as I just saw three new rigs at the FMCA show in Indy, and I thought the led lights were still terribly bright...I even asked Earl about them.  But you think they're better than your 2016's?

So, the latest Consumer Reports on tires (Dec 2016) rates Michelin at the top and Hankook a ways down the list at #7... as a lifelong Ford truck owner, this is a bit disappointing    www.consumerreports.org/tires/best-tire-brands
