Ron,

Do you notice the LED strips getting hot if the light is left on for 30 minutes or longer?
I drilled several 1/8" holes in the lens cover on the one we use most to allow for some air flow and will see how it goes.

Stan
No I did not notice excessive heat being generated from our converted LED light fixtures.

Most of our fixtures have two of three circuits activated (16 active) as shown because full light strips were too bright.

The lights over our 2350 bed didn't need to be as bright because they are mounted under the cabinets closer to the bed, so I shut down every other circuit (12 active) as shown here.  When I was all finished, I wondered if I should have done the same to all the other fixtures, primary to further reduce our power consumption.  But I wonder as we get older, we might appreciate the brighter lighting we have today.

It did not take long before the self-adhesive backing on the LEDs did not hold the strips to the base so I added a dab of silicone on each end to prevent them from peeling off.  That worked perfectly.  But your comment concerning heat has me wondering if mine run hot too which started the peeling.  I recall the first year checking with my hand for excessive heat, but I felt the lens, not the base where the LEDs are adhered to.

Do you have every circuit activated?
Or do you have two of three circuits activated?
Or do you have every other circuit activated?
Or do you have even fewer circuits activated?

Hello,
My name is Rich and I'm from the SF bay area.  At this time I do not own an RV but hope to someday in the not to distant future.  Right now I think it's coming down to a toss up between a Bigfoot 25 ft trailer or PC, we do like the 2552.  Weighing the pros and cons of each.  Came across this forum and have also watched several YouTube videos.  Joined up to learn directly from owners what they like/dislike and the type of trips they take. So please chime in.  Let me know your how your PC ownership has been.  Also interested in any comments about traveling with pets (2 cats) and equipping the PC to carry a grandchild safely in a car seat.  Thanks

Welcome Rich!

Glad to have you.  One suggestion is that there are years of advice on this forum--you can access a tremendous amount of information rapidly by reviewing past posts.

If you use the "Search" function, at the top of the forum page--you can narrow down the posts to your area of interest.  Pick a key word or phrase (put the phrase in quote marks), and hit search--you'll usually get a listing of many message strings that bear on your interest.  I'm sure you will get current feedback from members, but while you wait you can access a lot of info that's already filed away.

Again, welcome, and all the best.         Mike

HI THERE!

After lusting after a Phoenix Cruiser for a year,  we called Phoenix RV USA to ask for tour in Elkhart as we drove back home from out honeymoon.
We talked to Bob White and set a time to meet.  When we got there Bob hadn't returned yet so we had to settle for a tour from Dave, the CEO and owner.     :lol

I promised that we would buy a Phoenix Cruiser - just not a new one.

Dave showed us that we wanted a 2551.

That was on Monday.  The Wednesday after we got home I got an alert that a 2015 2551 was just listed - brown/gold with the cherry interior.
I bought it on Sunday.  I'm obviously very indecisive. It took almost a week.

I did drive it 600 miles to home, camping the first night, but it doesn't have plates yet.  The title will be in my hands early next week.
I have to spend some time inside just getting familiar and especially reading all of the manuals.

WOOT!

My first question is if I can install 2 or 3 safety grab handles.  I'll probably ask the factory where there is good structure for those.  I'm thinking on each side of the inside frame of the slide and the wall of the bathroom.  If you have any insight please let me know.

Hey, Ron!

IT'S ALL YOUR FAULT!   tymote

I lusted after the Phoenix Cruiser based on your recommendation!

I'm in Grayslake!

I could bring my 2012 to show you once I get the plates in a few days - still waiting for title.

I have some questions that aren't answered in the manuals, which I'll post.
Let's get in touch!

Hello everyone!   hithere

My wife and I, after seeing it for sale on the side of a road nearby, and doing some frantic research, purchased a 2007 PC 2350 mid-March. We have for a long time been planning on hitting the road after my wife retires this summer and, after kicking around many options, think this rig will fit us well. We are very excited to have it but have not even yet been able to register it and drive it because the insurance agency and RMV have been closed due to the coronavirus! Hopefully that will happen within the next week.

We have been giving it a thorough going-over and have begun "re-modeling" it to make it fit our tastes and needs. I have been using this forum to search for advice for the last few weeks and it has been very helpful. I look forward to "meeting" some of you through the forum and maybe also, someday, on the road.

Hello FLEI !

Welcome to the forum, and congratulations on being one of the newest Phoenix owners!  Sounds like this is a very exciting time for you and your wife!

I hope your progress on your new rig goes smoothly--sounds like you're using the forum a lot for information and ideas.  If so, you may be in luck to find that you share the same model and year unit with one of our most prolific posters--Ron Dittmer--who also has a 2007 2350.  Ron has volumes about upkeep and mods to his rig on this forum, so be sure to look for his posts over last many years.

Again, welcome, and we look forward to hearing about the progress on your new unit!

All the best,         Mike

Welcome flei. You will enjoy your Cruiser as we all do. You might want to consider joining the Phoenix Cruiser Travel Club. Membership is free and you can join at https://phoenixcruisertravelclub.org/. Besides the website, they also send out a quarterly newsletter and have great reunions/rallies throughout the US. Last years' was in Charleston, SC and this years will be in Spearfish, SD. Next years should be in the midwest time zone, but no location has been chosen as of yet.
The club is not run by the company, but is by owners, for owners. The company does participate in the reunions and always has interesting things to say.
Enjoy!
Jack is what we call our PC 2351D, and he has taken us from campers to RV'ers and loving it. We're no longer Team Bob. Just Jack the RV!

Welcome flei,

Yes, we own a 2007 2350 as well, but ours does not have a slide out.  There is way too much to share in my welcome.  Instead, I advise to click on these links to see what I learned, repaired, and improved upon.  I try hard to include pictures for clarity.  Hopefully some of your questions and concerns will be answered there.  You can always send me a private message too.

CLICK HERE to get to a listing of posts I have written.
CLICK HERE to see a list of many things I've done to our 2007 2350.
CLICK HERE to see pictures of our PC.  Some are dated, others more current.

Back in 2007, Phoenix sold exclusively through a dealer network.  We special ordered our 2007 PC through East Acres RV in Mendon MA, but picked up our purchase at the factory in Elkhart, IN.  With the aid of his wife, Don Keller was a one man show for East Acres.  We visited Don in 2016 when traveling in our PC through the north-east.  As I recall, he was around 90 years old 4 years ago.  I wonder if he is even alive today.  I recall his son took over the business but his focus was servicing, restoring, and selling used Volvos.  Given your location, you might be familiar with East Acres RV.

Thanks for the welcome everyone!

Rest assured I have read pretty much every post about troubleshooting, mods and other topics already (I have A LOT of time on my hands since, like most of us, I am "socially isolating"!).

Ron, since we have the same year and model, I started reading your posts even before we purchased ours!

I do have some questions on some old topics; is it appropriate to post my questions in the older threads, start a new thread, or should I contact an individual instead?

Can't wait to actually be able to drive it (and stay in it- though we have spent a couple nights in it in our yard, lol!)!

I would love it if you reply to those old posts to bring them back to life.  I think a warning comes up about the age of the post.  But I appreciate new questions to old topics, keeping it all together.
