I do have some questions on some old topics; is it appropriate to post my questions in the older threads, start a new thread, or should I contact an individual instead?
I would love it if you reply to those old posts to bring them back to life.  I think a warning comes up about the age of the post.  But I appreciate new questions to old topics, keeping it all together.
You might be sorry you suggested this! :)

Bring them on!

We are Hank and Joyce Whitney from Custer SD (The Black Hills, 15 miles south of Mt Rushmore). On March 23 we traded in a 2017 2910D we had purchased last September for a gently-used 2019 3100.. The interior arrangement of the 2910D was not quite what we needed as "seniors" and the 3100 had just arrived at the factory in Elkhart  We completed the sale the day before the factory (and Indiana) locked down.We had previously downsized from a 42' diesel pusher we full-timed in for 6 years and had for a total of 15 years. We left Indiana immediately after the PC purchase (after seeing some family in Ft Wayne briefly) and returned to South Dakota where we self-quarantined for 14 days. We hope to travel back to Indiana and also Maryland (more family) later this year

We also were hoping to make the 2020 PC Rally in our own backyard (50 miles away in Spearfish) but the impending birth of our great-granddaughter in Indiana in late September and the coronavirus impact could change all that.

As i just posted in General Discussion, the factory told me today a new owner's manual is almost ready.

Question: Our unit is 50 Amp (2 A/Cs..wow!) and supposedly has an onboard surge protector. We have always used an external surge protector. I am trying to figure out where the onboard surge readout is - up front on the "EMS" panel? And where actually is the protector? We always use a simple plug-in voltage readout but I like to see the surge readout/status too. So, for now, I also have an external surge connected at our house (we have a FHU connection).

Thanks,

Hank & Joyce Whitney

We have a factory built in Progressive industries surge suppressor and the monitor is mounted on the same corner panel as the generator panel and the tank monitors. I don't know where the base unit is but I would have mounted it close to the breaker panel where the power comes in.

If you call the factory and speak with Dave Ponser, he can either answer all your questions or put you in touch with someone who can. When you talk to him, it's always helpful to have the VIN handy so he can look up your exact build sheet.

By the way, we just got back from Spearfish.   That's one of our all time favorite campgrounds!   Unfortunately, we were there for the severe hail storm (Thursday the 4th) and got hit pretty hard with 2" or bigger hail.  I hope you folks didn't get that where you lived.

Doesn't change our opinion of SD or Spearfish... That could happen anywhere.

Hi.  We're Bob & Suzie.  We just purchased a used 2008 2350.  Downsized from a 33 ft Tiffin Open Road.  This is probably our 8th RV and need to familiarize ourselves with the PC.
Thank, Bob & Suzie

Congrats & welcome!!  That’s a great find  2o2

IMHO the  #1 upgrade for a 2350 is a Travasack or RVSuperbag for the corner bed. Get the queen size so no one gets short-changed 😁😁
A Camco roll-out night shade for the fantastic fan is the other must-have.

The best $35 ever spent will get you a fresh new  E350/E450 steering stabilizer replacement, courtesy of  Monroe. It’s a easy 20 minute job with just an 18mm socket and wrench. You won’t even feel the trucks  passing by at 75.

Enjoy
Goin' where the wind goes...

If your 2008 2350 is built on a 2007 E350 chassis, you don't have a rear stabilizer bar unless installed by a previous owner.  Assuming the end links on the wimpy front stabilizer bar are worn, it's a good time to replace it with something much more effective.  A heavy duty Helwig or Roadmaster stabilizer bar in back and front would be my highest priority along with heavy duty Bilstein shock absorbers, assuming the current shocks are ready for retirement.  Repeating myself here, considering a 2007 E350 chassis or older model year chassis.

You can check your stabilization by following this procedure.
http://forum.phoenixusarv.com/index.php/topic,2094.0.html

You can check your front shock absorbers as discussed in this post.

Thanks for the welcome and comments.  I usually go start by going through the RV and fix the little things that most people let go.  Then I start with replacing necessary mechanical THEN start upgrading chassis parts.

Gandalf 42 and DONC13 - Thanks for feedback on the surge protector. I will post tech questions on a proper thread from now on. After digging out the operating instructions I did figure out the readouts and all is good. So now I have a nearly-new 30 Amp portable surge protector we bought last September for our previous 2017 Model 2910D which we only owned for 6 months. Will try to sell it locally on Facebook Marketplace (Custer SD).

Hank, a suggestion...I make a copy of the error codes and mount them onto the inside of the near cabinet door. That way they are handy on those occasion when they show up.

Hello
We are Bill and Lynn.  We started out years ago with a beat up 1979 Komfort and a 1979 Suburban.  It was quite the scene, lots of interesting looks!  When we found our PC about 5 years ago after searching for years we were  overjoyed to say the least.  Kids gone retirement looming.  It was perfect.  We love it.  So with that we also are impressed with the support we get from the folks in Indiana.  I like the forum also and think it and the people that participate are 2nd to none  a great group!
Hello to all.

Hello, My name is Dave. This is my first Post and my first motorhome that I’ve owned. I live in Michigan and have been on some kind of body of water for the last 30 years, so natural I’ve owned a boat and have exploded the Great Lakes, but I sold my boats last year and want to try a new kind of exploring with retirement approaching. I was looking for a class b, but couldn’t justify the price of the ones I saw when I came across the beautiful 2350. She needs a little tender care to bring her back, but overall not bad shape for a 2007. I don’t think I would have bought her if it wasn’t for reading the post in this forum. The members here seem to love your rigs. I hope I will join you in that feeling, but as of today I’m a little nervous like a fish out of the sea.

Welcome Dave!!

And an earlier welcome to Bill and Lynn in Colorado, whose entrance post I somehow missed a month or so ago!!

We're always glad to have fresh views, input and ideas on the forum. I hope that all of you guys will become frequent posters!

Dave, I know about a "first motorhome" and being nervous about it. I bought my first-ever RV (my Phoenix Cruiser) at age 74--had never been in one before. The nervousness evaporates pretty quickly as you actually start using it and it becomes familiar pretty quickly. I would think that your previous long experience with boats gives you a "head-start" as well.

In any case, welcome all--glad to have you on the forum.            Mike
