General Discussion / Re: Rear View Camera Poor Picture at Night
« on: July 05, 2022, 08:29:05 am »
Lance, you may recall I was parked next to you at Mountain Glen and showed you the condensation in my camera and how frustrating it was.  Well I replaced it with a new one (under warranty).  I took the old one apart and later reassembled it and have kept it outside in the elements to see if it would fog up again.  So far no evidence of moisture.  Never thought about a silica bag but will keep that in mind.

Tried 100% bleach on an area.  Applied with a Qtip.  Didn't work.

General Discussion / Mold Spots in Fender Caulk
« on: June 15, 2022, 09:33:58 am »
We have very visible black mold spots underneath the silicone caulk around the fenders and other joints on the exterior of our 2552.  Anyone else have this and, if so, have you found a solution to correct it?  I cannot fathom attempting to remove the caulk for fear of damaging the paint.

General Discussion / Re: Foggy backup camera
« on: June 02, 2022, 09:52:03 am »
About 5 weeks ago I started noticing moisture(condensation) inside the backup camera.  At first it would dry out and work ok during the day but then moisture stayed in it all the time.  I took a storage bag full of rice and tied it around the camera for a day.  Didn't seem to help.  I finally decided to replace the camera.  After removing and installing the new camera, I took the old one apart and let it dry out and replaced the cover.  I've left it out in the weather for over a week now and no visible moisture inside the lens.  Also, I will note that the camera had a 2018 date on it.  Don't know if that matters or not.

So sorry that you had this accident.  So glad you all weren't hurt.  Looks like that boulder did a number on the front end but maybe kept you from going farther off the road.  Hope the insurance company will treat you properly.

All the best.

Not too sure I know what you mean?  Mirrors each side pretty much let you know what's behind you.  I turn my rear view camera off at night; it's too distracting.

Not the same problem, but close. I have mold spots in and under the silicone caulk on the fender joints and the bottom of the slide.  Not sure I want to tackle trying to remove and replace silicone from painted surfaces.  The worst part is our RV is only a year old and is hand washed at least once a month or more.  It just looks tacky.

Interesting.  Thanks for the heads up.

I am scheduled for this install at the factory in Elkhart later this month.  Made the appointment about 3 months ago.  Sorry for the low resolution to the pics.  I had to take a picture of the original picture so it could be resized to attach into the forum.

Here are a couple pics that the PC sent me.  I'm scheduled to have this unit installed in my 2021 2552 later this month.  My dash currently looks just like your pic.  I know nothing about DINS.

The most recent video Tina did was a walk-thru of a 2022 model 2552.  The video was filmed at the Hershey, PA show this past fall.  It can be seen on YouTube.

I purchased my 2021 2552 from Campers Inn in Clarksville, IN (650 miles from me).  They are a huge dealership and I felt pretty good about my deal and purchase from them.  Fortunately, I'm pretty handy and can tweak and fix most things myself.  My closest Campers Inn is fairly typical in that they display and sell mostly tow-behind travel trailers and fifth-wheel rigs.  I'm not sure I would be quite as comfortable with them - just an opinion. If you want to purchase a brand new unit, PC's dealership is Campers Inn.  Right now I think their inventory of Phoenix Cruisers is pretty slim.

General Discussion / Re: Roof Maintenance
« on: November 04, 2021, 08:33:49 am »
I hand wash my rig often using a foam cannon and low powered electric pressure washer, but only wash the roof twice a year.  When I do, I use soapy water and a stiff bristle brush.  I wash the shower dome and bathroom vent cover using a soapy micro cloth.  The only thing I wax are the two AC covers and two exhaust fan covers.  So far that seems to work very well.
