Hi Gary,

I think I am right there with you on that idea.  If it would fit in my garage, I would love a rear walk-around queen bed oriented front/rear that is not in a slide-out.  The closest model to that is no longer offered.  It was called model 2950 which had rear twin beds.  It seems it wouldn't take much to make a rear queen from that model when extending it to the length of the largest PC offered today.

The factory will build upon request as long as it is in the plan to also offer the model to the general public.  It never hurts to ask Kermit the owner.  He just might go for it given he just discontinued the 2950 rear twin last year due to unpopularity.

Welcome Gary,

     PC does have alot to offer.  If I were you, I would list out all my changes, even draw up an interior design and submit it to Stuart or Kermit and they will let you know what they can do.  Make sure you include the maximum length that you would like, number of slides, and any other special needs that you may have. 

     We use ours in FL in the winter time and it is wonderful.  It is a great way to travel.  If you get a chance to visit the factory or see some PCs at an RV show that is also very helpful.

Another welcome!
After reading your initial post, it seems to me that the 2910 with the 2 slides has everything that you want. Queen bed, split bath. PC will customize but what you must realize is that some ideas that we have cannot be built due to weight etc. We have a 2551. We wanted a 2910/2950-rear just like our 2551 with the bath in the rear and twin beds but the front area of a 2910. For us that would have been the ultimate PC. We were ready to order one. Kermit called and said that it could not be built due to the length/space(probably engineering issues) so there we were! Disappointed but feeling good that the owner to PC got involved.

It doesn't hurt to run your ideas through either Stuart or Kermit.

Welcome.

We have a 2551 and absolutely love the floor plan and the room that it provides especially in the bathroom.   Don't dismiss the twin bed configuration.  It offers some advantages such as ease of access to overhead storage, making the bed in the morning, changing sheets and the all important nightly trip to the spacious  rear bath.

Thanks for all the welcomes,  The main reason we want a queen bed is because the DW says she can't sleep right without me in bed next to her. I think where we live and would have the PC, anything bigger than a 2551,2552 wouldn't fit on our lot/diveway.  Right now we are waitting on the VA, if you know anything about them it's like being back in the Army all over again, hurry up and wait, after over 20 years I'm used to it but DW isn't.

Hey everyone - tip your hats to another new member, my father-in-law Ellis and his beautiful bride are the proud new owners of a 2012 PC model 3100.  They downsized from their 1997 Safari and will be joining us on our trip to PEI starting this weekend (thanks for the recommendations Judy!).  He's a tinkerer and is currently installing a water filter (thanks for the plumbing parts Stuart!) under the kitchen counter area so I'll try and have him post results and pictures.

  hithere Welcome from some "soon-to-be" Cruiser owners to the Forum. We'll be picking up our new 2100 (hopefully) in about a month in Elkhart. You'll find the folks on this Forum extremely helpful. Just ask, and they answer! We've been to Alaska twice, once for just a cruise and once for a land-tour/cruise. We loved it but weren't able to spend enough time there.

Hello,

We are a senior couple (married 49 yrs. if we live until the 15th).  We sold our Class A in March and wish to downsize.  We have been Rving many years--pop-up, Airstream trailer, two Lazy Daze class C's, three diesel pushers, and the last a Class A gas rig.  We are ready to go back to the smaller units.  We visited the Phoenix Cruiser plant in May and like them.  At the moment, we are hoping to buy a clean, used rig.  My question--if one buys a pre- 2010 model (I understand that was the year for the bigger slide with the refrig. in it), can you have the sofa (such as tri-fold or air bed) changed out for one of the new recliner/bed/type sofas?  I wondered if the dimensions would permit it.  If so, does anyone know the cost for this?

Another question--Has anyone slept on the new sofas?  If so, comments would be appreciated.

Welcome Buudy & Bev.
As another senior,  63 1/2 years married, and camping most of them,
welcome to PC.  We also did all from pop-up to class A to C including a school bus
in between. We enjoyed our first 2551 so much that we ordered a corbon
copy this year.
If you check back over the forum, you will find comments on all of the various
 beds. As we only use the twins, we opted for the reclining chairs
.Kermit will work with you to do most any arraingment.
