Wanting to upgrade so I can charge Lithium. What is a reasonable plug and play for the Intertec 5300 I have now?  Thanks

The intertec 3500 is not able to fully charge lithium batteries, which only at 14.7 volts.

Here's the specs I found on it:
DC Output Voltage: 13.2 to 14.0 Volts DC (nominal ~13.85V max at no load)

Even though lithium batteries voltage peak at 13.6V, they need 14.6 (or 14.7 according to some sources) to finish charging the top 15%.  It also needs higher (than lead acid or SLA) voltage and amperage to charge in general.  Since lithium will absorb current at a high rate, it is likely to over load the intertec.

Yes, that is why I need to replace it with a lithium capable one. There seem to many to choose from and I want to make the swap as simple as possible.  Thanks

Ah, sorry. I misinterpreted and thought you wanted a pkug and play battery for the intertec.

I also noticed that my previous reply was somehow saved in micro font. I fixed that.

There are several existing threads here in the forum that discuss the options for relaxing the converter for something captaining with lithium, as well as the pro's and con's.   In the main menu bar, use SEARCH and use the keyword Lithium.

Google Gemini says there isn’t a replacement tray module for the 5300.
If that’s accurate you would need to replace the entire power control center, which includes  the converter and 12v distribution (fuse) panel. That’s a lot of rewiring.

Customer support at Progressive  Dynamics should be able to help if you can’t find what you need on the their website.

Interesting, AI did point me to some PD models that are a direct fit. I  tried to order one and it was out of stock and Vevor found me I think and they make several so for $69 I ordered one. Now I  get to decide where to put the battery.  Thanks

LiTime high capacity grp 31’s might fit in your battery tray, but check the dimensions.

Up north you most likely want the heated type. Be aware of cold weather operating limitations and storage considerations.
