Greetings, All!
I feel privileged to have been granted access to so fine a group of folks. I’ve scoured through threads and posts within these forums and am impressed with both the level of camaraderie and with the resounding pleasure that your PC environment (company, company individuals, product and fellow owners) has provided to and for you. Though I don’t yet know you, I already feel as if I am in very good company.
I do not own an RV and have never owned an RV. But it was something that my wife and I had planned for our retirement. Though circumstances of life will not allow her to join me on this adventure, she continues to encourage me to become knowledgeable and prepare. And it is that research that ultimately brought me here.
For me, research is much like putting a jigsaw puzzle together. You have some semblance of an idea of how the picture should look, but not the sharpness of what the finished item will look like. As I began to investigate the differing types of classes, I first turned to the Class B (specifically the Mercedes Sprinter) as perhaps being suitable to my needs. But as I researched and considered other platforms, I found my interpretation of what I thought RV’ing meant to me was in its own state of change. It has been much like a swinging pendulum… touching all kinds of possibilities… but ultimately settling at the one that kept coming up in those evaluations – the Phoenix Cruiser. I suspect many of you have been on that very same ride.
In January, I’ll turn 62. I’m not yet sure whether I’m looking towards later in 2016 or sometime in 2017… but I’m closing in on the purchase of a new PC. I’m currently leaning towards the 2351. I like the idea of the permanent bed in back and one that my dog, Elsie (a 10 year old Coton de Tulear), can curl up with me on. I’m still uncertain as to slide or non-slide, couch or dinette… but I do believe it will be 4x4. I really do love to surf fish from the beach… or to take that unexplored inland road to see where it goes… and for that, I think the 4x4 gives me additional options. But I’ve still much to consider and to learn.
In advance, I would like to thank you for your participation, here… and to thank you for the patience you will somehow need to find as I become comfortable enough to begin to ask questions. My best to each of you…
Jim
