Hi everybody,

I'm Gretchen and I am picking up my 2014 PC 2600 (stretched 2400) next week at the factory!  I've been lurking on here for months soaking up all the words of wisdom (thank you all for sharing) and it has been very helpful.  Currently home is near Milwaukee, WI.  I'm a complete newbie so I'll do a couple shorter trips to get everything figured out and then I'm diving headfirst into fulltiming with my dog (Elliot) and cat (Marvin).  I'm sure I'll have a lot of stupid questions so please bear with me!

I hope to see some of you out there on the road!
Gretchen

P.S. I will have a recliner and folding dining chair in tan ultraleather that I don't need if anyone is looking to pick up one of those items.

Welcome Gretchen and four-legged copilots!
Nice to see another full-timer.  Feel free to email me if you ever want to chat about some of the issues that can arise as you are on the road.  My four-legged copilot and I are coming up on our one-year anniversary.  Looking forward to pictures if you feel comfy posting them after pick-up.
Safe travels!

Welcome Gretchen!  I'm sure you'll be a happy camper in your PC.  When we first got our rig I couldn't understand how folks just jump right into full-timing....but after living in ours on and off I definitely get it now.  Very nice, mostly easy life and no house upkeep!  Of course, Holly and John make it seem easy!

Welcome to Phoenix USA RV's Discussion Board. We think you'll find this is a nice place to hang out. Why don't you start off with a little introduction and tell us a bit about yourself?
Hi, we just purchased a 2002 2550 PC.  It did not come with a manual and my husband is concerned about how to manually close the slide so he asked me to join the forum (he is not computer literate and I am barely.  We live in Polk City Florida and plan our first trip within the next two weeks.  A friend had a 2004 PC and we were impressed with it and all the features.  We have downsized from a Itasca Meridian and looking forward to our travels and communicating on the forum. tymote

Welcome to the family!

There were notable changes in the Phoenix Cruiser line-up between model year 2003 and 2004.  Just be aware that someone providing help might be talking "apples" when you have an orange.  Still, many things are common enough with Phoenix fruit.

Sorry I can't help you much regarding manually cranking in your slide out as I have no first-hand experience with them.  I do know you need a crank, something that looks similar to this.

Hi, This is our first post.  We have a 2008 2551.  We really like the Rv, but it really wanders on the road.  I have to really stay on the steering wheel.  Any ideas of a good fix for this?  thanks

Welcome!

Yes there is a lot you can do to resolve your troubles.

What year is the chassis....a 2007 or 2008?  Is it an E350 or an E450?

Being a used rig, you don't know what the previous owner has improved upon, and what was not done.

Check your front and rear stabilizer bars.  If the front bar diameter is 1-3/8" and the rear is 1-1/2" then your bars are already upgraded.  If their diameters are under an inch, then I would replace them with heavy duty aftermarket versions.

I would replace stock shock absorbers with Koni-FSD shocks.

I would upgrade a stock steering stabilizer (the horizontal shock-looking thing attached to the steering linkage) with a heavy duty better type.  I have a Safe-T-Plus and like it a lot.

After those four things are confirmed as "upgraded", you should be a lot better.  Also get a wheel alignment and make sure you have the proper tire pressure.  Too much air wanders the rig more than too little.  Don't just put in 80 psi, the max stated on the tires.  Follow Phoenix recommendation on the door sticker.

I had a shop upgrade our 2007 2350 as I am suggesting to you and the rig handles beautifully since, and that was done 8 years ago.

Welcome,Paul and Donna.

We purchased a 2013 2100 the end of April and are about to do all the upgrades Ron mentioned and possibly a trac bar.

Sadly, ours handles so poorly, we won't take it on a trip until the upgrades are completed.   Driving it as it is now is extremely tiring and we feel dangerous.

Since ours is a much shorter model than yours,  your handling  issues probably aren't  as bad as what we are experiencing.

Hope we both can report later "All is well and we are happy travelers".

Gail

Hello.  I have been RVing on and off since 2003.  First with a truck camper, then a Pleasure Way, and now with a 2350 PC which I purchased new in November in 2014.  We have made one large trip  with the PC lasting two months down south (left the Buffalo NY area Feb. 10, 2015 with a temperature of 8F) and two short trips.  We are planning a trip this fall to Oregon and back.  Love the room of the PC vs. the class B, but hate the MPG of 10 MPG vs. 17 for the Pleasure Way.

Welcome, Chuck!

We spent some time up in your neck of the woods last year (stayed in Wilson and used the toad to explore, then spent a week on the Erie Canal). Nice area!

We will be up in Oregon this fall as well, so maybe we will see you.  We will be heading up thru Bend to the Columbia River and back down thru Coos Bay.

Yes indeed, 10 mpg is about right for a PC-2350 on an E350 with V10 engine.  That is why the Sprinter is worth consideration for people who drive a lot, ideal following ball clubs, dog shows, etc. around the country.

Our 2007 PC-2350 E350-V10 is now 8 years old.  I drove it to work today towing our Jeep Liberty for a shake-down.  I looked at the odometer and was surprised to see it has less than 24,000 miles (I thought we drove it more).  So for us, the $16,500 current-day lower purchase price of the E350-V10 would be the better investment even though the fuel economy is 2/3 that of the Sprinter diesel.

With the lower price of gas lately, our refills on our upcoming trip will sting much less.  That will be refreshing.

Welcome to the forum  (cheer), I see you had a Phoenix before so you must already love them so I'll move on to events. You are far enough west to join in with the west coast group. They do several Phoenix gatherings every year and the entire club has one large gathering each year. The next full reunion is in September 2016 in Washington DC. It would be awesome to see you there!

Enjoy your travels,
