Don

My understanding of the 50AMP RV service is a little different.  I think a RV electric service pedestal actually provides a RV with two 50AMP phases.  This means that the RV would actually receive a total of 100AMP or about 12,000 watts.

Barry,

You are right about the 50 Amp RV service, two 50 Amp 120V lines vs one 30 Amp 120V line.  There is an amazing capacity difference between the two, 12,000 watts vs 3,600 watts.

Yes...I was wrong, it is not a 30 plus a 20 amp.   It is like the electric feed to a dryer, electric stove, air conditioner, etc. in your house.  AT SOME RV PARKS THE PEDESTALS ARE STILL WIRED AS 30/20 AMP LEGS.   Check the circuit breakers on the pedestal!

But the main point...when plugged into a 30 amp (via an adapter) circuit or run from the generator remains the same....only one leg is "hot" so the 2nd a/c will not turn on.
