cabinet latch problem

Anyone have a solution for the latches not closing. I continue to have some problems with some not spring out so the latch will go back in to close. It will work OK after I prize the latch open with a screwdriver.

I cannot begin to tell you how many latches we have broken. I am always prying the latch with a flat screw driver also. We just got back from a three week trip and we only broke one latch. Before we left I sprayed all the latches with WD40. Just a little bit of WD40 into each latch. So far it is working. When I got my first PC I sprayed them with silicone. That was a big mistake as they melted together. I had to replace all of them. The last time I order new one from Carol at the factory, I asked her about this and she told me that some people have problems while others don't. She does not know why this is so. I guess we are just the lucky ones that have problems.

There was a long thread on this last October.

Here is my reply: http://forum.phoenixusarv.com/index.php/topic,1936.msg15124.html#msg15124

This winter I went through about 4 more brd latches. None of the Southcos have failed yet.

A partial solution is to remove one of the two latches from the larger doors. The one latch holds just fine, haven’t noticed any rattling, and got a nice kiss from my wife.   ((hug))
I remember very few of the things that I’ve spent money to buy, but I remember all of the places that I’ve spent money to see.

I was at the factory today to have a few items addressed, latches being one of them, before my warranty period is up.  Bob gave me a few extras and replaced the one that sticks the worst.  It wouldn't hurt to give them a call and see if you can get a few extras to keep on hand for any that break and to replace any that chronically get stuck.  He said that the ones they used prior to these wouldn't get stuck, but instead had the opposite problem, popping open occasionally while underway.  So they changed to the ones they use now.

By the way, I highly recommend visiting the factory if you have a list of items that needs work or looking at.  After the warranty period is up, they only charge $60 an hour.  No one knows your rig better and they are an awesome bunch of people.
