Rustoleum makes a spray on bed liner product in a rattle can. Its available in the big box stores. It does a great job of protecting items that can be prepped (clean the old rust off) before painting. It provides a nice finish and holds up very well against rock chips, etc. I've used it on my battery tray/hardware, trailer hitches, and similar items. Not sure I'd ever spray it in my truck bed though...
