General Discussion / Re: Replace Seats???
« on: September 22, 2024, 03:02:20 am »
Hello,
I am also looking to solve the flaking seat cover issue.  I appreciate what you have all written.

I do really like the comfort of the current seats (2016 model 2351).

I have checked with one local auto re-upholestry shop here in the TUCSON area and it will be close to $2000 to recover the driver and passenger seats.

I did contact Paul's and while they were terrible at returning calls, they eventually said a new cover would be about
$560.  I would have to install.  They said they would send fabric samples three months ago, and nothing has been heard from them since.

At that price point, replacing the seats might be less BUT would they be as comfortable?

Appreciate any thoughts!
Kathleen

Thanks Mike!  Since i have been doing this for a few years, it felt good to get confirmation!

Many thanks Sharon for your guidance on these operations.  I guess since the awning isn't necessarily out ( I worry about the wind), I will focus on the correct order of leveling and slide room.   :)

Hello,
I have a 2016 model 2351.  I would like to confirm that I am setting up levelers, slide out room and awnings in the correct order.

Here's the notes I have so far:
1st:  Levelers
•   We recommend that your RV be plugged into a 120VAC receptacle or have the generator running, during jack operation. This will help ensure the battery maintains proper voltage during operation.
•   The coach is parked in a reasonably level surface.
•   Leave key in ignition,
•   The coach “PARKING BRAKE” is engaged.
•   The coach transmission should be in the “park” position.
•   The ignition is in the OFF position.
•   Acts like a bubble level and yellow lights indicate low points. UP button lifts coach up (lowering jack).  The UP button always activates two jacks.
•   No lights or 4 corner orange lights indicate you are level. You can still use jacks for coach stabilization.

2nd:  Slide Room Operation
•   We recommend that your RV be plugged into a 120VAC receptacle or have the generator running, during slide out operation. This will help ensure that the battery maintains proper voltage during operation.
•   For optimum performance, the slide out system requires full battery current and voltage. The battery must be maintained at full capacity. If the battery is fully charged and you still do not have power, check the terminals and other connections at the battery.
•   Level the unit.
•   Press and hold the IN/OUT switch in the OUT position until the room is fully extended and stops moving. Hold the button down to put your slide out and up to put your slide in.
•   It is important to continue to press the slide-out switch for a few seconds after the room is fully extended until the motor shuts off. The control will sense that the room has stopped and will shut off the motor after a few seconds.
•   Release the switch, which will lock the room into position.

3rd:  Extending the Awning

•   Be sure to open awning before you set the parking brake (DO I RELEASE THE PARKING BRAKE THAT WAS SET DURING LEVELING?) and you cannot operate if the key is in the ignition.
•   Press and hold the “Extend” button and the awning will automatically open.  If the button is released the awning will stop.  Keep button depressed until awning is fully extended then release.
•   If awning hesitates, push out awning a bit.  This is normal.
•   Verify that the valance is in the correct orientation.  Tap the rocker switch in the “Retract” direction to adjust the valance orientation if necessary.  The awning is hyper-extended if the rope is located behind the roller tube.  Correct position is awning straight across the roller tube.  S

My 2016 model 2351's upholstery (driver and passenger) were fine till about 2 years ago.  Its getting to the point where I need to replace the covers.  I was refered to Pauls in Elkhart.  I believe they provided the orginals.  Anyone know if thats a good or bad option for purchasing new covers.

Thanks!

Tips and Tricks / Sewage line leaking
« on: March 03, 2024, 11:17:21 am »
Hello!
My 2016 model has had no leaking during black/gray tank leaking until recently.  I am currently in Mexico and no RV tech is available.  Any DIY advice would be appreciated.

There is no leaking until the pump is turned on.  Then there is a fair amount only on the driver side just behind the bumper.  I looked under and found there is a pipe clamp is broken.  Unsure at one point it should be placed.  I I have two pictures but cant seem to post due to size. Would be happy to email to anyone interested

Many thanks!

General Discussion / Solar or lithium or combo?
« on: December 11, 2023, 11:18:36 am »
Hello,
I have a 2016 model 2351 Phoenix Cruiser.  I have been doing more camping off the grid and am looking for longer battery life.  My standard batteries need to be replaced so thought now would be a good time to consider options other than just replacing what I have. My skills are pretty basic so this will be something I do through my RV tech.  Looking for guidance from other Phoenix Cruiser users that may have been down this path.

Costco has a Lion Energy Safari UT 1300 BT lithium battery.  Salesperson said it was an easy replacement (just drop it in they said) and that I would only need one lithium battery. Not sure I totally believe that.

Have also considered installing a roof solar system that charges either new standard batteries or a single lithium.

Am waiting for pricing from RV tech but thought I would check to see if any on you have some advice.  MANY THANKS,
Kathleen

Tips and Tricks / Interior renovations
« on: February 04, 2021, 03:35:32 pm »
Hello all!
I have had my 2016 2351 for 2 years now and thinking about some renovations.  This is my first RV so would appreciate any advice about the advisability of my current plan.

Dinette/Bed:  Have found that this bed is really too short for visiting adults (67 inches).  Thinking of replacing dinette with a fold out bed.  There are numerous DIY plans for a couch that would fold out to a normal bed length into the aisle area.  Would then purchase a folding table to replace dinette table.

Painting:  it may be just me but I don't like the gray with the cherry cabinets and floor.  Thinking of finding a paint that matches ceiling material and painting the walls AND the padded areas rather than reupholstering the padded areas.  As they aren't in high use locations, thought maybe the paint would work.  That would give me a more uniform color background.

Countertops:  anyone use Epoxy coating to change the color of the countertop.  Seems sad to cover up nice Corian but really do not like the gray.  Removing and replacing with a new countertop probably $800.

Backsplash:  have seen many postings on Pinterest of using stick on tiles for the backsplash.

Any thoughts greatly appreciated!!

General Discussion / RV cover
« on: April 07, 2020, 12:23:43 pm »
Hello!  Bought a 2016 2351 last July and am hoping to buy a cover.  Had looked at Classic Accessories line on Amazon as they say for B+ but in measuring I found its not wide enough.  Any advice would be very welcome!!
