General Discussion / Re: Stolen Catalytic Converter - Security Ideas?
« on: January 01, 2022, 11:33:48 pm »
Mine was cut off while stored in "secured" storage facility with cameras all over.  Local police are painting converters as mentioned plus etching Vin on it.  Thieves will still find unscrupulous scrape dealer.  Looking into catclamp, too, so would appreciate info on installation

Notice you're in Texas, so you might want to check for dried mud in or around the gas line air mix.  When I lived there, "dirt daubers" (mud wasps for people outside TX) liked to make their nests there.

You must be in northern OR that's getting more rain and wind. We're volunteering at Bullards Beach SP by Bandon, OR.  Haven't experienced any moisture so far, but we don't have double pane windows.

Was parked 4 months hosting in a state park.  When time to leave, battery was dead.  Later found that light under step was always on.

Replaced mine this year.  Norcold no longer makes fridge that came with PC, but their NA7LXR fits in the space perfectly and has a little more cu ft.  Had to remove PC door and doors on new fridge to get it inside, but installation was easy.

Got mine on Amazon, too.  Same price.  7 ft & expands to 21 ft.

Just replaced hose on my 2012 2552 for same reason.  Mine is 1 inch

General Discussion / Re: House door hinge
« on: May 04, 2020, 02:06:48 pm »
Now having same problem with my door.  Was a fix ever found.  Removed my door to replace refrigerator,  once bottom nut removed was able to tap pin out.  Pin has a barrel type bushing around it half way down which i believe is the problem.  Top one was worn, bottom one seemed ok.  Guess I'll call liftco to see if hinge can be replaced. Miu

Had same problem, same area.  Found gap in caulk on horizontal molding on front cap.

Had same problem caused by crud build up keeping gate valve from closing completely.  Obstruction can sometimes be cleared by completely filling and emptying black tank.  I eventually replaced the gate valve after trying several fush methods.

General Discussion / Leaking toilet fix
« on: October 07, 2019, 01:48:22 pm »
My Thetford Style II Toilet bowl no longer holds water caused by leaks around the blade seal in the bowl.  I just found out the fix is very easy and inexpensive.  Seal was $12.99 on Amazon and included new floor flange seal.  Drained water, unscrewed water hose in back of toilet, removed 2 nuts on bottom sides, lifted toilet out, removed 2 bolts in back bottom of bowl (holds bowl to pedestal), removed water hose from bowl, partial twist to separate bowl from pedestal,  lifted off old blade seal, cleaned seal area, applied plumbers grease to new seal, put new seal on top of blade, put bowl back on pedestal reversing removal steps, put water in bowl to test, installed new flange seal on bottom of pedestal, lowered toilet over 2 bolts in floor flange, replaced nuts and water hose and all done.  Took about 45 minutes because I spent time cleaning.

General Discussion / Re: New flooring
« on: April 20, 2019, 03:06:31 am »
Put laminate flooring in previous 2010 2350.  LOT of staples from carpet area so vinyl floor does have a lot of holes.  Floating laminate flooring I used had backing so didn't have to use anything under it.  Left required expansion space along walls, covered it with quarter round.   Old carpet and pad was similar thickness as laminate so no problem with slideout.  In slideout area, I installed laminate with slide out close t
o slide rollers.  Then used scrap laminate piece in front of rollers, brought slideout in over scrap piece, stopping on new floor plank then completed flooring under slideout.  Used trim piece at front end and around door step.  Had experience installing laminate flooring in home so more confidante to do it in PC.  It's not difficult, but requires time and patience.  Result is worth doing it.

General Discussion / Re: Black Valve
« on: December 08, 2018, 05:39:45 pm »
Valve was easy to remove/install.  Watched several demos online first so I would know what to expect.  Remove nuts, pull out bolts, carefully pry open slightly to free shoulder, pull valve out, reverse to install.  I did drain and flush tank several times before starting.  Make sure rubber gaskets come out with old valve.

my black valve wouldn't completely close and produced a continuous clicking noise when I held the close button down.  finally removed it and the groove the gate moved into to completely close was filled with "gunk" that was too solid to easily remove.  I had an extra valve, so I replaced it - works perfectly now.
