General Discussion / Re: 2552 RV Cover
« on: November 26, 2019, 03:58:58 pm »
Jim;
Looking forward to see how it fits.
I have one from my old Phoenix 2400, it is still good after 8 years, but too small.
I have an EXC2629, fits a class C, but too large.

Tips and Tricks / Re: toilet paper holder
« on: November 10, 2019, 05:30:45 pm »
2019 Phoenix 2552.
I mounted a recessed toilet paper holder to right of toilet.
Cut a square hole in the wall (there is a 3 to 4 inch space behind).
Follow instructions for blind mounting.

My 2552 is 28 feet long.
Which Gold Line cover will fit best??
Options are: GLRVB2628 or GLRVB2830.
Anyone with experience with these??

Keep a spray can of silicone oil handy in your RV.
It has many uses.  lubricating mechanical parts, auto dump valve shafts, steps etc.
Do not use regular lubricating oils like such as WD40 as they will attack rubber seals and attract dirt. 2o2

I came to the same conclusion as MIKEH and disconnected the 12 volt power plug.
Don't need another drain in the batteries.
Thanks to all for your input!!

Polls / Re: Length of Camping Trip
« on: November 29, 2018, 03:26:31 pm »
Trips have varied from two weeks to three and a half months.
We have collected geocaches in 42 lower states, Quebec, Ontario and Mexico.
40th anniversary next year and we are going to spend it in Canada and Alaska :)(:

I have had a Triplite for 10 years. It had always had a slight drain on the batteries.  When it is on, the unit cycles the 120 volts on and off looking for a  load on the outlets.
My solution was to turn the switch on the unit off at all times unless I needed the 120 volt outlets.

I am using 10w30 full synthetic oil and either Wix 51087 or Napa 1087 oversize filters (Ford Chassis).
Good for 10,000 miles. just turned over 90,000 miles.

General Discussion / Re: Cabinet Latches
« on: October 17, 2017, 02:45:47 pm »
I have had some of the hook part of the latches break.
My cure was to place small washers under the screws to distribute the load away from the screw hole.
They are ~ 1/8 ID and 3/8 OD.
