running board lights

Folks:

I posted a couple of weeks ago that my running board lights were not coming on and then they all of a sudden they worked again so I forgot about them.  They are acting up again.  It has been raining for 5 days now here in NH so I have not had a chance to get my test light out to find out what is up but can anyone tell me where the fuse might be hiding?  Neither door activates the lights so I know it is just not a bulb out.  Thanks

There is a fuse inside the panel on the drivers side beside the emergency brake.

My rig is 5 years old so what I share may not apply today to a 2012.  My recollection is poor but I think.....

If you turn on the interior cab lights with the instrument panel dimmer switch, the running board lights will stay on, either for a long time or indefinitely.  It won't solve your problem, but at least you can check the running lights for basic opperation.  Something to help with troubleshooting.

I had thought something was wrong with our rig's running lights until I realized this.  We turned on the interior cab lights with the instument panel dimmer switch, then turned them off individually at the light fixture, much later noting the running board lights were on for no apparent reason.

Folks:

Fuses are all OK, dimmer switch makes no differerence.  Have not heard anything back from Kermit as to where the wiring actually runs in the coach...any other ideas would be appreciated.  Thanks

Remove the black plastic cover on the step above the light, it is held in by clips so just pry it up.  You can then see the light wires and where they run, not sure if there is a fuse there.  Check both driver and passenger sides.

There are some PC-USA added in-line fuses located behind the kick panel by the parking brake pedal.  Pop-off that panel and check the fuses there.

Spoke with Kermit F. today.  Sicnce the dome ligght works he new immediately it had to be where they tie the running board lights into the dome hot lead and that is done right by the drivers shoulder belt bracket behind the plastic facia.  Got my fingers in there tonight and sure enough I found the connection right where it was suppose to be and guess what a squeeze brought the lights to life.  Have to get in there now and really see what has pulled/loosened.  Kermit sure knows his product inside and out.
