Some really basic questions

Some really basic questions

We just got a new 2910 and I have these questions:

Which battery runs the slides; the steps; the detectors (smoke, propane, CO), levelers; frig?

Into which tank does the: kitchen sink, toilet sink, shower empty?

Is there a 12v outlet from the coach batteries?

What current draw when steps are out?
I observe an erratic, cyclic, high current draw from the engine battery when everything is off and the steps are out. Any suggestions about the source?

Where is:
The transfer solenoid for boost and charging house batteries when engine is running?
The house battery cut-off solenoid?
Slide-out relay(s) and breaker(s)?

Welcome to the forum Dick and congrats on your purchase of a new PC.  There are many more savy individuals on this forum that I am sure will chime in to answers your questions better than I will but I will try my best...the sinks, shower all empty into the gray water tank, the toilet is the only waste that goes into the black water tank.  What is nice on my 2551 and I am sure on the 2910 is that I can open both gate valves and mix the two tanks and get more total capacity.  There is a 12V plug on your TV ant. boost plug and that comes off of the coach battery, should be in one of you front over head cabnets.  The slide, and stair are wired off the chassis battery all other detectors come off the coach battery.  The stair switch has and on/off setting, the off leaves it in the out position all the time and it only retracts when the ignition is turned on, in the other setting the stair goes in and out everytime the door is opened or closed and a yellow light will stay on under the stair.  I have no idea what the" significant" draw would be from  unless there is short circut somewhere.   The main battery shut off is right at the doorway and all other fuses, breakers, etc are near the fuse panel and the inverter/converter, not sure where that allmight be located in the 2910.  bets of luck

Welcome to the Forum. You have a very nice unit.

The fuses for the step are located in a panel just below the emergency brake release. If you need more info on how to find them, let me know. I believe that I previously posted on the Forum what one needs to do to access them.

Again, welcome. You will find so much info here!!

Is there a water filter under the kitchen sink?  I think I read that the slides are electric not hydraulic .

NO water filter under the sink but I did install my own there on my old 2008 model 2551 (had to do some counter drilling).

When travelling, we filter the water at the source and then use a Brita for drinking water and making coffee. Saves on plastic bottles.

Gradygal,

Interesting.  When we were taking delivery we noticed no water filter at the kitchen sink nor room for one under the sink.  The salesman dismissed this as unnecessary.  Turns out that the water at our trial run campsite was terrible in-spite of a blue filter at the hookup post.  We immediately installed a Brita and solved the problem.

We have a filter at the inlet to keep shmutz out of the system but only use bottled water for culinary purposes.

Considering an under cabinet filter on the faucet.  I want to know more about Brita and what size microns it filters for safety of unknown water sources.

   The slides should work off the house batteries. That is unless you are plugged into shore power.  Our water filter problem is bottled water for us and Miss Dog... And for coffee too. We hope to be on the road on Monday and should meet up with 2 other PC friends by Wed for a visit. this is a test to see if the hiccup repairs are indeed  all fixed. Looking forward to getting on the road again.  Luv to all, Patricia

P S  toilet is Black tank all other are gray tank.  And for flushing your tanks do black first then gray to clean out the lines good. Then clean water for final wash out.

10-15  our inspiration for buying a PC a dear friend will have to miss our camping gathering in Brunswick Ga due to serious electrical problems with his almost 1 year old coach. He is heading directly home from stop over in NC to see if problem can be solved. Has been a miserable trip so far for them and dog. Oh my oh my.

The house batteries are always being charged when the engine is on.
The solenoid, under the hood, controlled by the momentary switch on left of steering wheel allows house batteries to charge the engine battery.

Slide-out has circuit breaker located near your converter. There are two others in same location. One for macerator the other for generator starter.
