AC not turning on?

While checking on an unrelated something last night in the PC i noticed that the AC wasnt running. Ive been keeping it plugged up at home running the AC at 74 degrees to keep the humidity down. My symptoms were AC not running but when i cycled it off and back on i could hear an audible click from the unit suggesting it was getting the signal to turn on from the thermostat. Found one of the wire nuts from the romex looked burnt. This normally means heat generated from a high resistance connection, most often by something that has worked loose. You can barely make this out in the 1st pic below. After removing the electrical tape its clear that over time this is exactly what happened as the romex was loose and pulling out of the wire nut with ease. The stranded copper wire on the AC side was fused into the wire nut. Cut it out and replaced all the wire nuts with WAGO connectors. I personally hate stranded copper to solid copper in a wire nut especially if in a high vibration environment. And before anyone chimes in about the WAGO not being the best either i know this but i didnt have anything else to use at the moment. This post is to illustrate how any RV can eventually get a loose connection and what to look for. Also if your AC just clicks but doesnt turn on its likely on the 120v power side.

Maybe this can save someone from a $200+ service tech call if you are handy with electrical. Dont forget to turn off power before getting in there.

I know what you mean about "stranded wire in a wire nut" used in such an application.  When motivated, I twist the stranded wire, dip it in solder flux, then solder the wire solid in preparation for a wire nut.
