Anyone ever remove decals from your rv?
« on: April 13, 2025, 01:03:11 pm »
We have a 2006 Phoenix Cruiser 2551. We bought it in 2019 and had the decals replaced. It looked brand new, but the snow and freezing temps have cracked and faded the decals. I just want to remove them. Has anyone ever attempted this?

Following.  Same question.  We want the .com off of the back.  Half is already worn off.

Serrano - There are several  RV vinyl graphics specialty shops  out in the Riverside & San Bernardino areas. Or maybe ask the same shop that did yours before in 2019?  The pros use a stack of 3M  Eraser Wheels, plastic razor blades, adhesive remover, sweat,  and patience. Yours might not be so baked on after only 6 years.

Yes there are but they want close to $3500 to redo them. I want to paint them on, decals don't hold up in the winter mountains.

In 2016 I was quoted $3k just to remove and replace the decals with custom  vinyl graphics, not even reproduction decals. Instead I got custom  2 color multi-stripe paint work done for $5k. The white between the stripes had to be painted too, so that’s 3 colors. After 9 years of outdoor storage the paint still looks as new except for spider cracks on the side door.

Paint and body work here in CA is crazy $$$ due to the high costs for labor, rent, insurance, Cal EPA regulations, etc. etc. It’s hard just to find a shop with a big enough paint booth. You may  want to search in Arizona or Nevada too

I had decals all over my 2500 crew cab pick up when I was in AMSOIL Dealer. When I retired from that, I used to heat gun and Amsoil heavy duty degreaser to get rid of the residue. It does take a lot of time to accomplish. Amsoil heavy duty degreaser Does not hurt paint, plastics or other things. I’ve used on many things for almost 20 years.
