Removing the protective shield coating on our PC

Does anyone have a "reasonable" recommendation for removing the protective coating on our PC?  The hood & top cap portions were removed prior to our purchase.  However, both of the side caps now look like they have permanent "love bug spots" on them.

An installer can tell you how to remove it.

There are a few U-Tube videos out there of professionals removing it off huge luxury $1/2M-$1M class A motorhomes.

Our PC has a few small yellow bug stains on our Diamond Shield, though not bad enough to remove the product.

I have seen a few older PCs for sale where the Diamond Shield turned a dark brown, an unsightly look on an otherwise nice PC.

Diamond Shield removal is a challenge.

Use a steamer to progressively loosen a working section ahead of a small, plastic, putty knife
Use a specific body shop, hard plastic(?) tool to remove the film. Being careful to avoid cutting into the paint.
You can use sandpaper to re-sharpen the leading edge of the tool,
Peel the entire Diamond Shield in one continuous sheet, if possible.
Try to maintain grip of the already-peeled plastic.  Helps avoid having to continually scrape a glued-on edge.
Use something like "GOO GONE" Adhesive & Glue Remover to remove remaining patches of cured, stuck-on glue.

As noted in the online guide "the process is very tedious and can take up to a full day to accomplish."

Years ago I took it off my Bigfoot trailer with a heat gun.  Then I used Amsoil Heavy Duty Degreaser to remove the goo. That stuff won’t hurt anything.

I see you are in Orlando.  I live in Inverness and have been looking for someone to remove our Diamond Shield as this is not something that we want to tackle ourselves.  I have spoken to Florida Applied Films and they will do it for what I believe is a reasonable price.  We will be making an appointment soon to have it done and he said that they can do it in a half day but sometimes it can take a full day.  He also said it was okay if we wanted to leave it overnight.  They have very good reviews and the owner was great in speaking to him on the phone.  Their website says that they are located in Dover, Fl.  but he told me that they are currently located in North Lakeland. Thanks, Sharon.  Yes, please let me know how the removal process goes & approximate cost.  Most of mine was removed by the dealer when we  purchased it 3-4 years ago.  The only parts that were not removed are the front left & right "wings" & the two mirrors, since at the time, they were not showing any signs of disfiguring. So, hopefully, this will limit the cost.  I'm having it looked at by a friend of mine who does paint & body work to see what he thinks.

I paid Diamond Shield, based in Elkhart, to remove it on my 2013 3100 and then reapply a new Diamond Shield with a warranty. I'm a DIYer and researched the removal process.  After spending several hours on the recommended removal process I quickly found that I would likely do more harm to the paint job than the videos discussed.  They had all the old, molded Diamond Shield off and reinstalled a new coating in just one morning.  That was 3 years ago and I had no issues since then.

I'll share the cost just to remove the DS from 2013 model 3100. I did not replace it. Elkhart DS did the job for $1100 in 2023. They do great work.

We had the Diamond Shield removed by Florida Applied Films in Lakeland, FL.   Shayne is the owner and they did a great job. We dropped it off at 9am and it was ready by 3pm.  The only pieces that we did not have removed were the small piece under the entrance door and the small piece by the ladder in the rear.  Since our PC is 10 years old and it isn’t showing any signs of mold by now he thought that we would be smarter to leave it in those two areas but if we wanted it off he would do it.  He waxed and buffed the coach in all the areas where he removed the film and it looks great.  We did not have the Diamond Shield replaced as we did not want to have to deal with it again. Anyone can call him and get an estimate over the phone on removing it and even putting it back on.  Shayne is an honest man and his quote on the phone is what he charged.

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. It cost me $1,200 and everything was replaced. And the new coating is much better. I get no bug debree on any part of the RV that is covered.
