2003 PC 23.5 ft No power at outlet above cabin (TV)
« on: April 16, 2024, 03:35:29 pm »
Hello, :help
I'm new to the PC world. I just purchased a 2003 PC 23 footer. I have now power at the 110 V outlet that is located above the passenger seat/cabin. It's the one that supposed to power the TV and maybe a DVD player. I've tried following the wire and have access up to the cover behind the driver seat, the 2 wires (yellow insulated with three wires each, hot, neutral and ground) From there they go under the slide out towards the breaker panel I believe.

I've tried to find the input for the problem outlet by looking for continuity from that outlet to all other outlets and breakers but no continuity to it.

All the other outlets work, all the breakers are on and the 12v fuses are all good.

I've searched for online support, a schematic but find nothing
I really would appreciate any help.

Thanks,

Victor

You are at the right place. Also check back inside the new owner intro thread.

It’s possible that either PC or a previous owner added an inverter that’s wired to a stand alone ac outlet for using a 110v tv on battery power. If there’s a hidden inverter make sure it’s switched on.

My 2003 doesn’t have an inverter or 110v ac socket up front. There’s only a 12v socket on the antenna amp switch plate, located inside the passenger
side cabinet above the windshield.

Mine has a 12V socket next to a coaxial cable under the sink/counter. I've found no inverter anywhere. And at the top cabinet above the passengers side there is a coaxial connector and the 110V outlet. No 12 V up there.
Ill keep on digging. Thanks for the input

It is possible that the receptacle itself has gone bad.  Phoenix uses receptacles that do not require an electrical box.  Their interconnection is not of the greatest reliability.  Maybe power is getting to that receptacle.

I have a 2010 2900 with a factory installed 120V outlet in the cabinet over the copilot seat. It is on the same circuit as several 120v outlets on the passenger side of the coach. Btw, the bathroom outlet is a GFCI at the head end of the circuit... So, if the gfci trips my bathroom, kitchen, outdoor outlet, tiny triangle desk and TV socket are dead.

Since you lost where the wiring goes to from behind  the drivers seat,  check for continuity and power at the hidden outlet on the opposite side of the slideout. It’s located on the wall between the sofa and refrigerator, but is totally obstructed unless the slideout is extended.

Victor,

Repeating myself.....

The duplex outlet itself might be bad.

I found it. Pulled the furnace out and found the wires that go to the outlet above the cabin passenger side. Cable seem to have never been connected.

Thanks

Wow. So it never worked for 21 years?

Good job finding the cause.  2o2

How did you remove the vented panel to get to the furnace? I need to get in there  to wire my solar charge controller and run a cable under the slideout to a remote display  up front.
