Cover for a 2350
« on: March 23, 2024, 04:37:14 pm »
After having our 2010 2350 Phoenix Cruiser in inside storage for many years, our storage warehouse has lost its lease.  We are thinking we will have to bring it home and store it outside.  Does anyone know of a good cover that is fairly easy to put on?  Thank you for your help in deciding how to protect our little cruiser.

Hi Margie, You ask an excellent question.  Being that Phoenix is in Amish Country, they might have connections to someone who can make a custom-fit cover that fits a 2350 perfectly, zippered main entry door and all.  It is surely worth a call to Phoenix.

Ron, thank you for a good idea.  I am feeling a bit down at the moment.  I really don't want to sell it.  My husband is having some major health issues and cannot drive it anymore.  I can but know that I would have a very hard time getting a cover off and on.  Unfortunately, the only place I can store it at our home is right close to our neighbor's tree that drops sticky stuff and leaves year-around.  I've got to figure out something by the end of April when I have to bring it home.

All covers are heavy and require you to get on the roof and also on the ground a bit underneath to get straps connected to both sides.  It really should be done by 2 people.  Camping World sells covers.  They aren't custom fitted but are based on the length and type of camper.

I would suggest you ask at a local RV dealer if they know anyone who would put on and remove the cover for you.  Since you have full body paint, you do not have to worry about fading and a place like Blue Beacon Truck wash will get any tree sap off the vehicle if you wished to leave it uncovered.

Margie, This will involve some money and may not be approved where you live, but consider having a carport built near that sticky shade tree.  Where the sun blasts your PC on the side, have the contractor add functional yet decorative lattice with small holes.  I have seen pictures of that being done for RVs and it seems very effective and relatively inexpensive.  If you have such a shelter built in the right manner, then later decide to sell your PC, you'll have the option of spending a little extra money and close up the shelter to have a pole barn which is always a great selling feature when selling your house.  90% of men of the house will appreciate having a pole barn at home.  If your property can accommodate a longer shelter, make it longer to accommodate a longer RV for a super-selling feature one day.  Low cost pole barns don't have a concrete foundation and have just a dirt or compacted gravel floor, hence are often taxed much less than a regular detached garage, a question to ask your tax assessor.
