Mirror won't adjust

Hi everyone, I'm attempting to adjust the mirrors in my 2010 Sprinter motorhome.  We have a 2350 that we purchased in 2010 from the factory.  The chassis is actually a 2008.  My right mirror will adjust but the left one just sits there and won't budge.  Any idea what the problem could be?

Hi Margie,

The most popular cause for such a failure is within the control switch.  I can't say this applies to Phoenix Cruisers, but for vehicles in-general.  With that understanding, I would start by replacing the control switch.

Just in-case you experience what I do on rare occasion...a senior moment on everyday matters, make sure you click the selection lever twice to the left and twice to the right.  The center position disables adjustments.

There are several things that can cause that.  I don't know if there is just 1 fuse for both sides or one for each side. If one for each, the left side fuse could be blown.  Like Ron said, the control switch could be broken so when you turn it to the left side, it's not properly supplying power to the left side.  The motors in the left side could have failed, but that's unlikely that both horizontal and vertical motors would both go at the same time.  And, of course, it could simply be a broken ground wire on the left side.

I have no idea how handy you are with tacking things apart or tracing wires and testing for the proper voltage on the wires.  If that's not your thing, I would strongly recommend you take it to an RV shop and let them check it out and give you an exact diagnosis and cost to repair.  It may cost up to $200 to diagnose but the actual repair may be much lower.

Here is another thought.

Replace the control switch yourself and see if that fixes the problem.  That is a lot cheaper and more timely and convenient than getting someone else involved.

I searched for "Velvac Power Mirror Control" and found THIS ONE ON AMAZON.  I am not sure it is the one used on your PC, but your Phoenix supplied documentation bag should include the Velvac documentation to find your specific control module.  You can also call the Phoenix factory to get the part number.

If you are the least bit shy in replacing the module yourself, I imagine it will be an easy project requiring a few simple tools.....maybe just a srewdriver.
