Thermostat question
« on: August 05, 2023, 01:51:46 pm »
Have an old duo therm thermostat that died on the AC/heat unit.  It has 4 positions, cool, off, furnace, and heat strip.  7 wire connection.

This thermostat is no longer available, thus the question...can I replace it with a current thermostat with a 5 wire, and leave the heat strip dead, which we never use?  Leaving cool, off, and furnace

We just replaced the Dometic thermostats that came in our 2018 PC with the Micro-Air thermostats and are very happy with them.  You might check out their website and see if they have a model that would work with your year of PC.  If nothing else, they might have an explanation on their website that would answer your question.

Look on Ebay, there's tons of various DuoTherm thermostats for sale there.
