Tank Heaters....
« on: April 25, 2023, 08:43:47 am »
Just experienced our first night below freezing after taking my 2007 2100 out of indoor storage.  Question:  Can you run the tank heaters on house batteries only overnight?  I have two 200amp 6volt batteries.

Thanks,

That's what they are connected to, turn on-off when you want.
I wouldn't worry about temperatures in high 20's unless that was what you expect for at least 12 hours.
When you are driving or plugged into 120v service, it automatically recharges you batteries.

Also note you really have 1 - 200 amp 12v battery, when hooked in series you don't add the amps.

Thanks,

Yes, it has been at or below freezing for about 12 hours now here in the Detroit area and it is now snowing!!!   I just turned the tank warmers on.  No harm, no foul.

Yep on the battery amps/volts.
