Not to hijack this thread but*********

Lieutenant or any other Forum member who will be in Florida on Jan.2, Carol cancelled her reservation at W.P Franklin for Jan.2 so it is open. If anyone is interested, reserve on Reservamerica.

We will be there in our 2910, Barry and Sue in their 2551 and Syd and Margo in their 3100. It would be fun to have another PC there. Unfortunately, there is only one night available now but sometimes there are cancellations,

And remember, it is our cristening. Already bought the bubbly y-- y-- y--

(cheer)  Thanks for the information on the TV/DVD.  Never did figure out how to make the surround sound work with the TV.  Thanks.  And I will try out the IPOD with the TV and see if I can make it work.

Thanks again.  heartshower

Does anyone have a clue as to hooking up a DISH receiver to the Samsung system?  When visiting my brother, I use one of his DISH receivers... in my old unit, I hooked directly into the back of the TV.  With the new unit, is there a way to hook it up within the cabinet?  Thanks.

On our previous pc's, I ran a cable from the outside through the wall up to the front cabinet where I connected it to the receiver.  I would then connect the cable from the tv to the ant out on the receiver.  If you don't want to drill a hole in the outside, install a connection box and run the cable through the floor/wall, you can buy a flat connector that goes over the window.  On our current pc, I had the factory install the cables into the front cabinet and rear tv location from the outside with an outside box next to the power and cable boxes.  That way I can leave the tv connected to the antenna, connect the directv receiver to the connections on the inside of the cabinet and simply switch by changing the tv source to av.  There is also a way to change the antenna connection/booster you have in the front cabinet to allow connection of the receiver, but it got too complicated for my simple mind.  Instructions can be found on the internet, but I can't remember exactly where.

Aimee,
I have two questions about the Directions for the TV/DVD:
1.  Did Samsung change the size of the remote controls?  In our new 2350 model the small remote is designed for the TV which is opposite from the Directions (not a real problem now, but I was confused for a while), and
2.  To get the surround sound to work, must I go thru the Directions' procedures each time I turn on the set?  I haven't been able to get the surround sound to work at all.  I've only been watching TV via cable, listening to the radio (with very poor reception), and listening to music on CD's.

On ours, the surround sound runs through the Samsung BluRay.  So if we want surround sound on our TV, we turn on the tv, turn on the BluRay, turn the sound down on the tv and turn the sound up on the BluRay.  (The BluRay player remote has a white button labeled TV sound)

Thanks for the info....QUICK NOTE    we have 2008 2350  started having problems, no dvd, would not pick up AIR (antenna)  took out the TV and was thinking that maybe the TV was so old might need a new one,, cables were older,, replaced all the cables with newer editions,,  everything working find now.... little bit of work  on the mounts but worth it,,,  PS don't forget the antenna power switch
