If you had the opportunity to repaint your PC

As many of you know I have a 2005 PC 2900 that had crash damage on the passenger side rear. After I finish the repair(which should be soon) I will have to do some painting. I am very fortunate to have a place to spray this PC and "somewhat" of a skill to accomplish this(I play with this as a hobby). I know it is not going to be easy but I do plan on respraying the entire PC. With the majority of you having spent a lot of time with your PC... have you givin thought of ways you would like your PC to look if you had the opportunity. Please share your Ideas to help me come up with a paint color and style.

I have always liked our "Morning Mist" Gray Full Body Paint job on our 2007 PC.

Even so, I wish we had selected the "Sage Mint" Green version.


It was unfortunate that neither Phoenix or the internet could provide a decent picture of the Green FBP color back then, only the Lower Body Paint version which did not excite us.  We instead went with the "sure bet" as shown on the front cover of the 2007 brochure.

In your case.......

I don't know how you could duplicate the 3 color tone pattern or any other pattern for that matter.  You have a white canvas to work with leaving me to wonder if you should make the rig all white.  Yes it would surely be Plain-Jane but the rig would be a lot cooler in summer-time by reflecting the heat.  Maybe there are Phoenix-Supplied graphics available that you could add over the white body to dress it up some.

Our first motorhome was 100% white gel-coat which had maintenance challenges as the rig aged.  Still, I liked the white body with graphics.

Whatever colors you choose, I strongly suggest full body paint and no decals.

I'm with Ron on the old Green PCs.   I thought it was really a good color.   Since we bought our rig when it was eleven months old, we didn't get to select the color and the Green wasn't available by then in any event.

If I could spray the entire coach it would be  solid Arizona Beige metallic, a popular Ford truck color,  maybe with charcoal  accents. The dew runs off the front cap  and leaves very hard to clean “tiger stripes” above the windshield and cab windows.

Any full body paint with NO old Geezer swirls. The geezer swirls are to the point where the 70’s two tone style of the Lazy daze Rv are starting to be stylish. For me it would be white, but at a min any light color to assist with the heat issues.

I laughed reading your comment.  I must be an Old Geezer.  Turning 64 this year, the numbers say I am.

Back in 2007, buying a used Toyota MR2 Spyder to tow behind our PC, I was hoping to buy a silver one and have a paint shop add Old Geezer swirls to match the PC towing it.  We ended up buying a red Spyder which threw that idea to the wind.  I hate a car with a changed body color unless you spend more on the paint job than the car is worth.

Ron.. I’m older than you and I still don’t like Geezer swirls. 😵‍💫.  As far as being a Geezer… it’s not all bad.


But Geezer swirl paint jobs just scream Geezer. Doesn’t need to be on color or two tone but No Geezer swirls.   

I know I’m old but I don’t need to advertise here comes another Geezer!

There was something about turning 60.  Both my wife and I physically felt it.  But getting old is much better than stopping the clock. :)

Adding to general aging......

13 months ago, I fell 14 feet off an extension ladder, landing on the lawn, fortunately flat on my back.  I thought my life would change forever, but God had other plans.  I am nearly 100% back to my pre-fall self.

Then last September in Glacier NP, I fell off the trail, right at the trail head to Grinnell Glacier.  Something in my left knee still isn't right.

I am getting accident prone, apparently a byproduct of turning 60.

Now back to paint jobs.

Ron I get it.   Remember when you noticed the differences from 40 over 30 and 50 over 40 in ten year increments.  After 60 I started noticing those changes in shorter increments and now yearly.

You falling off that ladder without a major injury is incredible. My neighbor fell off a 6 ft step ladder, tried to catch himself with his hands and broke both wrists.  I have grown a huge respect for ladders and heights as I’ve gotten older.

Here is a caution for all of us and has little to do with age.

We have friends who have a nice, reasonably sized fifth wheel.  They got it out of storage last year, brought it home, plugged it in and were getting ready for a long trip.   Well, the long trip turned into a long recovery because the wife  stumbled over the power cord, hit the driveway and has spent six months rehabing her arm which broke in two places.   They are both in excellent physical shape and not older. 

MORAL:  watch those power cords.  And ladders! 

By the way, I love the swirls and I have had more comments about how beautiful our PC looks than I can recall.   Plaine Jane ain't my date of choice.
