I did a quick search on "2022 E450 dash board" and found this picture. It is from a company selling brand new commuter busses for hotels and such. This is a 2022 E450 dash board. It has me thinking the pictures posted higher-up are of something previously customized with extra large over-lapping escutcheon plates (trim plates). I pulled this picture from
THIS WEBSITE. I feel the installation will go cleanly without hacking up your dashboard.

For those of you who don't understand the term "DIN". It is an acronym, a German term (Deutsches Institut für Normung) a world-wide automotive radio dimensional standard. DIN to DoubleDIN will have the same width. Only the height varies. DIN is a small car radio commonly found in older vehicles. The picture of the 2022 E450 shows a DIN sized radio with trim and a storage compartment utilizing the larger hole.
1.5DIN units were popular for a while to make the radio fancier, accommodating more impressive controls like this.

DoubleDIN radios were introduced in-part to accommodate large bodied multi-CD radios. As of late, most vehicles have a DoubleDIN sized radio to accommodate large display screens.
Sorry if this is way more information than you care to know.
