Well.... things took a twist but ended up great!
When we went and got the seats, Rich told us he was unhappy with how the foam was NOT put in, and the quality of the work overall. He admitted he paid TOO much for the shoddy work, and was moving on. Believe you me - when you see the rest of his estate, you would agree he has very high standards for 'fit and finish'. Class act.
He was So right. Once mounted, and easily 'gazed upon with pride'...

..... Oh my. The sewing and workmanship were fair to poor. I am not even talking 'show car' judging, mistakes were easily visible. I bet i could have done as well on my second try.

And they were NOT nearly as comfortable as our 'original' seats. 30 min in, and you are squirming around, with different solid spots bothering the posterior.

So...I re-installed our original. And tried to give away the new seats... No deal. Not even a nibble, except for the usual FB/craigslist spam.
Put them up for $100 OBO to see if the 'Free' was scaring people...NO response.

Was gonna pull the covers off (to reduce shipping) and offer them here to someone in the 'flaky seats club' that might want... but then STILL have to get rid of the other parts... and I was a little 'shy' on having someone else pay to have the covers switched and THEN find what a poor job was done re-making the covers...

Suddenly, I had an inspiration. They are PERFECT for a two seater buggy... LIKE MY GOLF CART!!!

Fit like they were made for it. Swapped them side to side, I had to remove the reclining lever from the driver seat so they fit. Thats all. Made a new mount board, put on heat shield bottom and carpet top.....

I do have the 'bibs' hanging below the front secured now. The seats are just resting on the top here, these were the 'proof of concept' pictures before I went inside and made it all 'For Real'

and finished. But it was after dark when I got done. We went out for a 10-15 min ride anyway, and WOW are these comfortable seats for a golf cart. Base is ~2 inches higher, the full height back is SO SO SO much better than the original backrest. I am 6'1", so having higher seats could be a problem with the roof height.
Gonna do some minor pedal adjustment to get them spot on. This cart is registered with the town, and legal to use on the secondary streets to go to the post office, store/gas station etc. Mrs V will be riding in style!

A truly happy and COMFORTABLE ending.

Thanks again Rich!
