Entrance Door Handle & AC Fan Speeds
« on: July 12, 2021, 10:58:22 am »
Question 1: Out side entrance door handle----is the handle suppose to light up?

Question 2:  Air conditioners fan speed. The instructions indicate that the fan speed is adjustable, low,
medium & high. The rear AC fan runs on high all the
time (although the fan speed is set to low) with the compressor turning on or off as it should. Is
this normal? The front AC  fan runs on high all
the time, the fan speed is set to auto. Is this normal or should the fan speeds cycle thru low,
medium & high? Both AC's are 1500 units. The
rear unit has a heat strip & the front has a heat pump. I have not run either unit on heat to see if
the fans would cycle. Thanks for your replies,
 (WH) Chuck

I can't tell you for sure with the newer models, but my 2015 model has high, low and auto settings (in an LED thermostat).   Auto turns the fan on only when the a/c is calling for cooling.   Lo or HI leave the fan on all the time that the thermostat is set to cooling.  But.. (no matter what the fan setting is) if the thermostat detects that the temperature is 5 degrees higher than your setting, it will turn on HI until the setting vs room tem is 4 degrees or lower.  It will then switch to lo speed.   Also, if the a/c unit detects that its evaporator coils are getting iced up, the compressor will shut off and the fan will go to high speed until the system no longer detects ice.    My a/c is a Penguin 2 with heat strip.

Oh yea, yes the outside grab bar does light up when the outside porch light is on.

Thanks so much for your reply. That clears up my questions. Our units are Dometic. The temps have been in the middle 90's during the day & 70's at night. I fully understand, with experience, that RV AC's are limited. Our Tiffin Class A system was ducted through the ceiling & very quite. I'm sure we will get use to the louder system. Headed to the mountains seeking cooler temps. We really like our PC & glad we downsized.  :) Chuck
