Phoenix Cruiser was broken into at storage
« on: July 04, 2021, 02:52:11 pm »
Our 2006 Phoenix Cruiser 2551 was broken into in storage. The manager said they were homeless people and hit about 5 trailers and motorhomes in storage.
The broke the small window in the entry door and unlocked it. I am grateful they didn't brake the bigger more expensive windows. We don't see that anything was taken
that we know of.  The window is plastic which I didn't know.  Where can we get a new window and frame that is the same size?  I don't see a name on the window. Are PC door windows all the same?

This is the second time our PC has been hit. Last year someone stole the mirrors. We are moving our PC to our cabin where it is safer.

Started the rv today and heard a loud pop and engine was really loud. Looked under the rv. They cut off the catalytic converter and took it. I am glad I have insurance.

WOW..       Sorry to hear of your troubles.   Glad you have insurance!!!

Odd your window was plastic, mine (2006 2350) is glass.   MAYBE this had happened to your rig before, and someone replaced it with plastic?  Maybe Ron and others with this 'vintage' of camper can attest to glass or plastic being factory supplied.

I recently went on a search for a replacement coach door window (Wanting a thin shade..) , and had NO luck finding something that fit the existing hole. Similar to the Water heater access door, it seems PC used unique materials that were not mainstream.

The window comes out of the door fairly easily, and replacement glass/plastic could be cut and fit. That would be my first response to the problem.

Otherwise... call the factory, and see if they have any leads.

Will keep an eye on this thread, if you need any instruction on removing the window just ask!   Hope things get better for you.  ((hug))

All my PC windows are HEHR glass....thermal pane glass.  We paid extra for the thermal pane option.

You could call Phoenix, but understand, the pre-hung door assembly is supplied by a 3rd party.  I recall seeing a sticker somewhere on the door frame, maybe on a hidden side that stated the manufacture.  Look for the name, then call them directly.

This is a picture of the sticker on my door/window frame. Not sure if this will help. Chuck

Thanks everyone for the help. I will go back to storage and see if there is a sticker on window frame or nearby.

What part of So Ca are you in? I’ve been hearing of a lot of areas being hit for the converters.

Here is the information on our 2007 PC pre-hung entry door system.

The sticker is located here.

This is the sticker.

I found them online but they do not list the pre-hung entry door in their RV products page HERE.  It may be an item exclusively manufactured for Phoenix.  I did hear Phoenix has a patent on it, specifically the design of the pivot-hinges that handle the odd angles of the door to the framing.

That’s an excellent idea as long as it’s thick enough that the sawzall can’t buzz thru it. Once down post a picture if you would . These thefts are nation wide.

There is nothing you can do to stop a determined thief/burglar/etc from getting into your home, apartment, RV, etc.  All you can do is make it hard enough that they'll go to an easier "job."

Which if applied correctly is exactly what a cage would do in this case.

I still wonder why the window was plastic....I bet another window pane could be cut from plastic or glass and refitted to the frame. The window frame is removed/installed so easily.

Re: Catalytic converters being stolen...now air bag suspensions are an anti theft for the converter.  (exactly)

I wonder if you could install a huge capacitor to supply a 10,000 volt spike to the exhaust system.  Just remember to kill the power when you arrive.  roflol

Sounds good to me. The insurance is paying for the window too. I am having a steel cage welded around the cat converter. Then I am moving the rv to my cabin where it will be safe. I have cameras all around my property.
