Location of the inverter in our 2910t
« on: May 29, 2021, 10:17:29 am »
Where is the inverter mounted on our 2910t?  Weíve lost shore power to the coach & a mobile RV mechanic told me over the phone that thereís a reset switch on the inverter that needs to me pressed. But, Iíve searched the entire coach inside & outside & cannot locate the inverter box.

You lost all power when plugged into shore power?

That doesn't sound like the inverter, it sounds like the MAIN circuit breaker in your power panel.  I don't know where the main breaker panel is in your RV but it should be obvious, typically located near the floor with a vented brown cover, maybe 10" x 10"

Again, not sure where that panel is, but the inverter in most models is mounted near it, but inside wherever that power panel is.  For example, if the power panel is located on the side of the bed, you remove the mattresses and the plywood the mattress lays on.  Since your bed is on a slide out... It's unlikely the power panel and inverter are there on your model.

I also wonder if the power transfer switch is stuck in "Generator Mode".

Do you have 110V throughout when running the generator?

On our 2007 2350, our Tripp-Lite inverter/convertor dual-function unit is behind this vented door that Phoenix screwed shut using hinges on both left and right sides.  I removed the right two hinges and added a knob.

The tech probably thought itís a Xantrax inverter with the  built-in surge protector that trips if the voltage from the pole  is too high or low. Check your owners manual packet for the inverter manual and  how to reset it (control panel?) There is a searchable thread on that topic as well, and YouTube is always a good resource. But check the circuit breakers behind the brown power panel cover first.

My 2910 inverter is under the refrigerator   I just replaced the auto transfer switch which is located behind the drivers seat at floor level .Feel around the rug that goes uo the wall( about 7 or 8 inches high for a phillips head long screw, back out the screw and pull the rug back. You will see the auto transfer switch. I replaced mine because the heavy duty breaker would mot allow  switching from shore power to Generator ....not a big deal to replace...cost about $150.00 or if you have good sam it will be replaced at an rv repair center. Mine was actually sparking \wnen I observed it with the cover off  good luck
