  IS it possible to replace just the ring?
Or...any there suggestions?

Hi Suzzi,

Those rings are being sold so I imagine they can be replaced.  CLICK HERE for one source that I quickly found.

CLICK HERE for one with the tabs for easy tightening and loosening like the original one.

I personally never replaced one so I don't know what is involved.

I'm guessing that you could gently soften the rubber on the end of the cord with a heat gun or hair dryer and slip the new threaded ring over it.
