Entry door

My door on the opposite side of the hinges is rubbing just a bit, thru paint on the bottom of the frame.  If you open the door and lift up from the bottom, there is a bit of racking.  So has anybody removed the hinge bolts and put a little washer under each bolt to raise the door a bit to make the clearance a bit better?

I just looked at mine, and that is what I would do (and probably should.)  Put a shim under the closed door first and you should have no problem. Mine has a washer there already, might need a bit thicker one.

Looking at removing the nut on the bottom, when turning, the top rounded end turns also(duh).  Hoping bolt was somehow fixed in place.  So don’t want to scratch up the painted bolt with a pair of vice grips.  Got to go find a circlip of right size so that when I lift door a bit I can put the clip in the gap.  Am thinking a washer cut with a notch to slip in would just come right back with a few openings of the door.

Mine was already slightly dinged (as is much of the 10 year old veteran coach) and I was able to push up on the bottom of the bolt and grip the head with a channel lock, nearly 3/32" play. The bolt was not very tight so it didn't take much. Does yours have washer shim on the bolt already? Mine may have been remedied once by the prior owner.

You might also try slipping a flat screwdriver head as a wedge at the top of the hinge below the rounded head. You'd think a carriage bolt would have been appropriate.

Op. Just slipped 2 e clips under the bottom hinge around the pin, and one under the top hinge.  Wedged the door up a bit to get clips in.  Guessing there is a bit of slop built in to allow for frame flexing.  There might have been a washer under the bottom, but appears to be gone.  There was one on the top.  I can see how those would wear down over time, not a light door.  Anyhow, better than what it was.
