Generator exhaust hangers

While changing the generator oil yesterday I saw that the exhaust pipe hangers are rotten and actually only look like they were doing their job. Looking at the pics attached, Hanger #1 is a stock Onan hanger and readily available.

My Question: Is Hanger #2 original, and if so does anyone have a source for it?    I've searched and can't seem to find one. It is not shown in the manuals, but it notes that the pipe should be supported every 3'.

No picture seen for #2, #1 is a common aftermarket item also. If you dont want to pay $13 for the Onan one, Advance / Autozone/ O'reilleys  etc have them for $4 of so.

I guess all the pics were not up yet.

This sure looks like it can be configured to work. The rubber is bolted on to allow for positioning. Might have to either cut the pipe attachment part shorter, or reuse the existing one.

Thanks, I wish they had some specs on the size, but looks like it is flexible enough. I'll try Napa online, I'm not brave enough to venture into the New World (yet.)

Some light weight steel cable and a couple cable clamps from Home Depot does the trick. I had it laying around to use on mine but the cost is minimal.

For reasons that do not need to be explained, our PC 2100 is still in storage undercover. So, no photos.
We broke a generator exhaust hanger on our Alaska trip in 2017. We quickly improvised with a metal coat hanger.
That hanger has hung in there and is still doing it's job.
We use an excellent small RV repair place and every time we are in they suggest we replace it. But why? Coat hangers are cheap and looking for employment.

Just looking under the coach the hangers both appear to be fine, until you actually move the exhaust pipe and see they are broken clean through. Visual inspection was deceiving.

There is 4' of pipe just hanging by the bolt flange, vibration would surely weaken the weld there...my guess. This must be the reason there are secure but somewhat flexible hangers used in these locations, also for noise and heat reduction.

I'll stick with the proper connections.  I'm too old for baling wire repairs.

You can get them from Carol at the factory. I have one laying here ready to be installed if I ever take the cover off of it this year
