Hello PC Family,
We are Charlotte and Milton and recently joined the Phoenix Cruiser family with the purchase of a slightly used 2013 2350. For about 11 years we owned 5th wheel trailers and camped at every opportunity, however recent health issues made downsizing a necessity.
For months we looked at smaller class A's, but these just did not seem to be the right fit nor meet our need for a smaller RV where we could go almost anywhere and find a place to camp. Class C's' with the "over the cab" bed and larger physical size proved to be more of the same. Another issue is that Charlotte did not want to drive a pickup/5er not did a class A or C look more inviting.
While browsing through a Trailer Life magazine we saw a small advertisement for Phoenix Cruiser, visited the web page and were soon convinced this is what we are looking for. We talked to Earl several times regarding a new unit, but still needed to move the 5th wheel before a new purchase of a 2350. Used looked like the best plan, especially if a reasonable trade with the 5th wheel could be made.
Watching for used Phoenix Cruisers, especially for late model 2350s and 2552s, is interesting; there are few. Finally, after 4 months of checking almost daily, two identical 2350s were listed, each with less than 5000 miles on the odometer, configured as we would have ordered. A quick trip 500 miles north of our home to look at the first of the two, we found a coach slightly used in as new condition and the trade was made.
We have never seen a PC before now, did not know there was a B+ configuration. I looked a hundreds of Cruiser pictures, on this PC site and else where, so pictures is all we had to help form our decision. We had taken Earl's construction video tour many times, so we knew the RV inside and out. When we sat down in our 2350 for the first time, I felt like I had been in this RV dozens of times! We knew what to look for and performed our own PDI finding not one open issue, with the exception of tires on recall by Michelin, got 7 new ones now.
The 2350 is just right for us. The fit and finish is very good and the quality is there. I have found a few things that will require some attention, especially in regards to the driving/handling of the Ford E350 chassis. I have read a lot of helpful information on this forum and have already made several chassis changes, some of which i will detail in another post.
We are happy to be here and are enjoying our Phoenix Cruiser .
