12 volt wiring scheme?
« on: February 02, 2020, 04:39:22 am »
Hoping some of you 3100 owners can help me.  I did switch out the three vent fans for Maxxair Fans when I had this built  The front one has lost its little mind – keeps trying to cycle on the auto start setting and tries to function but then cycles back off.  None of the buttons or settings are changing this behavior.

Since I am spending the winter in PA I obviously don't need or want the fans running.

I thought I might be able to pull a fuse and just take it out of action, but I am not able to read the words scribbled on the panel.  Do any of you have a legible listing for the 12 volt system in the 3100?

Of course it would be great if there was a fuse that went to the fans without undoing anything else but that is probably too much to ask for.

I will contact the factory next week but I was hoping someone here might have an answer so I can stop this sooner.  Hopefully I am posting a picture with this.

Thanks in advance.

I absolutely agree on your description of the labeling.  My 2015 was apparently labeled by the same person.

If I had to guess on yours... The 4th from the bottom seems to be labeled "Rear" and the one under that "Pass" and under that "Driver"

The one labeled "Rear" would seem most likely to me.

Good Luck!

Thanks Don/Patti.  The good news was the same electrician pulled all the wiring for years and years.  The bad new apparently was his handwriting sucked!   Just another adventure in my FT life.

OK - getting weirder.  The fan has upped its game and keeps trying to close the vent even though it is closed.  The wind down portion seems to be officially broken now as once it is closed the handle continues to go around with a loud popping since it can't really shut any further.

I tried the fuse for rear and that seemed to go with the other two  fans but that didn't stop this one.  I started just pulling each DC fuse one at a time.  Not only did none of them stop this front fan, none of them cause the ceiling lights on either side of the fan to go out either.

Is there another DC fuse box somewhere that would control the rest of this?  This is the only one I remember Earl showing me.

Best not to really p---- me off.  I just started taking that sucker apart.  When the main wiring didn't have pull apart connectors, I took more apart till I could get to the control board and unhook the wires there.  Silence reigns again.
