USB charger

Need to add subject.  Hard wired or plug in the “cigarette “ lighter.  Used the plug in type before but always seem to be too loose.  Amazon has prices all over.  There is a blank between the 2 plugs that would probably take a hard wired one.  What are you using that works good

Here is the one I used "USMEI Dual QC3.0 USB Charger Socket, 36W Waterproof Quick Charge 3.0 Power Outlet Adapter for 12V/24V Car Boat Marine Motorcycle ATV RV Campers Tractors Truck Golf-Cart etc " You can find it on Amazon.  The reason I chose this one is because its 3.0 and is the fastest charger on the market, it also doesn't haven't a back light to bother you while your driving. I installed 3 of these 2 in the bedroom and one in the dash.  I use it at the dash to power my RVI tpms system and in the bedroom to keep our phones charged.

This reply is specifically for us PC owners with a 2008 or older chassis that has the earlier style dash board design.

Are you like me feeling that both in-the-dash 12V outlets are located in the worst place possible for the driver?  They are conveniently located to reach, but everything I plug into either outlet, from GPS power supplies, to USB charging ports for cell phones, anything with a charging cord interferes with shifting gears. Irene and I had another complaint as well, that all the charging cords coming from the 12V outlets drape across the center console, making a mess and interfering with our cup holders and anything else there.

So I came up with a modification some years ago.  We've been using this for a number of years now, and we really Really like it.
I added two 12V Outlets In The Center Console Front Face (one of the two has a pair of USB outlets)
It relocates all charging cords away from the gear shift lever area for safer driving, provides easy access for the passenger, and removes all charging cords off our cup holder area.  All the cords either drape down to the floor or are easily tucked into the storage pocket.
Power is received from the high-power cigarette lighter outlet.
The short vertical dark gray wire seen under the radio, supplies power to the outlets.
Not seen is a hidden in-line connector to easily disconnect the center console outlets, required to remove the engine shroud.

There is room for only the two.  There is limited space to install the two as it is.  That is why they are mounted slightly skewed to the left.

I use one of the two original 12V outlets for a plug-in volt meter, identical to the one pictured below.  Unlike the charging cords, it does not interfere with shifting gears.  I selected the green color illumination to match the instrument panel color.  It's been very nice to monitor the alternator output voltage when the engine is running, and the battery voltage when the engine is shut off.

Where did you get the 12 volts for the two bedroom usbs?

I use the plug in volt meters per Ron to monitor chassis and house batteries. Love them.
