The few things to watch for on a 2005 that may have been optional back then, but are standard today, are the clean hands sewage system management, and the 2 batteries for the coach
The difference between a 2005 Ford E350 chassis and a 2009 Ford E450 chassis, is huge. The benefit to the E350 is a softer ride, but is more difficult to handle. I have a 2007 model 2350 on a 2007 E350 chassis. I invested in $3,900 to improve it's handling. It now handles like an SUV, but $3900 is a lot of extra money to put into a 5 year old RV.
The 2009 E450 chassis has an improved and heavier-duty suspension, with bigger brakes. That makes it better in critical areas. If you special order a brand new 2010 model with the new huge slide out, the E450 chassis handles that extra weight very nicely.
I am not saying the 2005 is not worth consideration. But putting the money aside, the 2009 is the sure winner. A 2010 model with the huge slide out is better yet. There is also value in warranties when buying new. Special ordering a new 2010 gives you the opportunity to make it just the way you want it.
Good Luck!
