After switching to the 3-way I still had issues (old thread on that). Ultimately a new Check valve added to the water line solved the problem - as noted above an issue with the valve in the pump. The check valve I have requires no changing of settings to use. It just prevents the water from running back thru the pump and filling the water tank. In my case I did get an email from Andersen offering help if in fact their valve was faulty.
I know, this thread is a year old. I just swapped out the old 4 way valve with the new Anderson 3 way valve. I don't know about a year ago, but the valve I ordered directly from Anderson came with a separate brass check valve for the PUMP connection (from inside the coach, the left connection). It adds about 2" to the depth of the unit when installed. You can leave it off if you wish. On my 2551 I had plenty of room for it.
That check valve is specifically to prevent the issue with a faulty check valve in your water pump. It prevents water from back flowing from the city water inlet, through the pump (from the pump outlet back to the pump inlet) and then into water tank.
So just for information, on any RV (with or without an Anderson valve) if you hook up to City water and your fresh water tank starts to overflow, then it's about a 99% sure thing the problem is in your water pump.
