Floor Mats
« on: February 19, 2019, 04:31:46 pm »
We are looking for some rubber or stiff plastic (not carpet) floor mats for the drivers and passengers area.  The cab area is carpeted (my mistake) and we want something there to catch dirt, mud, and whatever other gunk I manage to get on my shoes.  My wife hardly ever gets any gunk on her shoes, I walk in the same general area and load mine up but good.  Any one else notice this happening?  I just tell her it's because I'm working harder.  She doesn't buy it and just laughs and refers to me as "Pig Pen" from the Peanuts cartoons (makes me laugh too).  So, back to the question, has anyone found such a thing?  I've tried the Ford dealer but their's are smooth on the bottom so would slide around, not a good thing with my size 12's and small pedals.

Thanks!
Gary

I wanted some Weathertech mats, but they said they are not availabe now, but working on it. It's been a while now and still haven't heard. If you do find something, especially at a reasonable price, please post it.

We got the WeatherTech All Weather floor mats for our 2018 3100 and love them. We use WeatherTech mats (or liners) for all our vehicles. The part number is W51. Here is the link:
https://www.weathertech.com/ford/2018/econoline-e-series/floor-mats-all-weather/

I would say these would also work perfectly fine for the 2019 PC's.

Hope this helps.

I have them in my 2019 2552 and they fit just fine.

I purchased a set of Husky Liner floor mats, #33253 for around $90 on Amazon and they fit like a glove. The tan matched the PC interior very well.

Peg, do they slide around at all?  Are the nubs on the bottom enough to hold them in place or do you need the anchors they appear to come with?

Yep!  Size 13's here that seem to carry small animals in the tread sometimes..  :lol I know the problem. Ours had the factory carpet, I first looked at this option:
https://www.stockinteriors.com/moldedvinyl.asp?Itemid=2506&MakeId=34&ModelId=218&year=2006&Price=0&gclid=CjwKCAiAkrTjBRAoEiwAXpf9CWAop002VkbR3IAl0Kq6fuTY-KkI6fpRmO9y1gsK0ikDF4FZsAE4LBoCVHcQAvD_BwE

The factory wanted $400(!) for theirs.

I wanted something a bit more personal, so I got a sheet of this:
https://www.homedepot.com/p/Diamond-Deck-5-ft-x-9-ft-Battleship-Gray-Golf-Cart-Mat-82059/206315010  and cut it to fit. Fits better than the factory mat, I formed mine a bit different. IF you have a weekend, tools and the ability it comes out VERY nice, and extremely durable. Not sure how eager one would be to do this in a 1YO van.... but you end up with a weather and 'boot proof' floor.
Here is a link to how mine was done. I could not be happier, it is easy to clean, and looks great.

Something to consider if the floormats dont fit your needs.

(Now if we could only have the seats redone in gray to match the rest of the cockpit... the new headliner going in is going to be either gray or black vinyl to match everything else. Only thing looking goofy is the fake woodgrain dash/trim pieces. Have to do a junkyard trip to change them to black.)

They don't slide around at all, on the floor of our PC.

Thanks for the tip on the floor mats.  I was just considering purchasing some after seeing my carpeted mats bunching up.  I worry they may get in the way of the gas or brake pedals. That would be very frightening!

We have blue/gray carpet.  The Weathertec gray look too bright. Anyone buy the gray? Are they really as bright as the picture? Might have to go with black.

No sliding so far.  Mine were given to me without anchors, so the nubs must be working.

We got the black floor mats for our PC, because we have the dark gray carpet (nightscape). Plus, the other reason I wanted black, was because we did go with the gray floor liners for our Toyota truck (to match that carpet), and it does show stains from use over time, being they are much lighter in color. Our gray floor liners get more crap on them, being they get winter use in Northern Michigan.....our PC won't get that, because it isn't used in the winter. Still, we liked the idea of the darker (black) mats. We also have the black floor liners in our CRV, that we prefer, now that we've experienced the gray.

We did virtually the same as Volkemon. Only difference is that we took newspaper and taping them together, made a template that fit the way we wanted it to. Laid it out on the garage floor covering material and cut it out with aviation snips and a sharp utility knife. Fits like a glove and works great. And in one piece.

Are we poets? Our feet show it.... they're LONGFELLOWS...  :lol  Ok ok... just years of teasing growing up.. think I have heard them all.

@garmp - that works also, I have done so much auto upholstery I have learned to cut a bit generous and trim after. What flooring did you use that needed aviation snips? The PVC sheeting just needed household scissors and a razor knife for trimming, joy to work with.

I might be installing another one just like it in a friends mortorhome. He saw mine and drooled.  :-D

We used some left over garage flooring from another project originally bought from Home Depot. It's pretty heavy duty. The scissors would cut, but tore up the hands. A small pair of aviation snip I had cut much faster and easier. It wasn't cheap, so I kept and eventually found a use for it. Worked out well.
