Phoenix Cruiser 2351

We are back from the factory with our new Phoenix Cruiser 2351 (attached are a few photos).  One item we customized was to attach dining tables to the sofa slide out.  We wanted tables that would slide in/out with the sofa without any extra setup. We are happy with how they turned out.  They even rotate out to be side tables when the sofa is converted to a bed.

Wow, JJ!  That's pretty slick.  I see they were able to install the tables without compromising the pantry or anything.  Looks like they would be really useful and versatile.  Wonder if the table implementation is something that could be done after the fact, in addition to during the initial build?

Thanks Mike!  Barry said they liked how it turned out so much that Phoenix is going to offer this as an option in the future.  I do believe it would be possible to add the tables after the fact.  The table mounts are offered by Lagun USA.

If anyone is interested in giving it a try, I would be glad to add some close up photos of how Phoenix mounted the table brackets.  These table tops are 23" by 18".  If I were to do it again, I may have gone a little bigger so we would have more table space when our daughter joins us in our travels (see picture below).  Also, the one table mount currently prevents the pantry from opening enough to allow the drawers to pull out (I have to slide the table bracket out to allow the door to open enough).  Phoenix offered to order two pantry doors to replace the single door.  That way the new top pantry door would open clearing the table bracket allowing the top two drawers to pull out.  I would then remove the bottom pantry drawer and use the bottom of the pantry as a shelf.  I think that will work well.

JJ, I absolutely would appreciate photos of how/where Phoenix mounted the brackets.  After looking at info on the website you provided, I am impressed with the simplicity and functionality of this design and am convinced this would be a great addition--especially to units without a separate dinette.  When I ordered my 2552, I reluctantly decided to go with the sofa in the slide-out, because I felt I needed that capability worse than I needed the dinette, but I regretted giving up the fixed table space.  This arrangement seems like an ideal answer to that quandary. My unit is actually still in production, and I will be in touch with Phoenix on Monday to see if it's possible to still add this arrangement to my build--but if that can't be done, I'll be looking at installing a couple of these units myself after delivery.  The actual mounting process looks to be simple enough, but it will be important to determine whether the mounting points that Phoenix used are solid enough to accept the extra load as is, or if they installed some reinforcement.  In any case, I really appreciate you providing the information on your new coach.  I know you must be very proud of it--and it's going to help me solve a shortfall that I regretted having to accept.

Roof Racks are back I see!     

We really did not discuss the roof racks when we placed our order but we were glad to see that both the racks and the ladder were installed.  Our previous 2350 had chrome but I think the black looks better on this one.

I will be surprised if the factory could not add this to your build.  Based on some photos I saw taken during the build of my RV, I believe they added the table mounts late in the process.  I agree, the tables would put a load on whatever it is mounted to,  so it is important that they are secure.  Below are some additional photos. I measured my existing pantry door this afternoon, it is 9" x 47.5".  I am going to contact the factory requesting two doors to replace the existing one.  The top will be 9" x 31.5" and the bottom will be 9" x 16".  This should allow the top pantry door to fully open clearing the table top so the top two drawers can fully extend.  And I will remove the bottom drawer and use for a shelf.  I already know what I am going to store on that shelf, it will be the perfect size.

JJ----thanks much for the additional photos.  I does look like Phoenix used some additional spacers/reinforcing at the mount areas, but the installation looks to be fairly straightforward.  Lost in my original surprise at the potential table option was that you actually had a pantry installed on the "opposite" side on your 2351!  Don't know where they got the space to do that, but I like it!  I noted that you had deleted the pantry to get the six wide drawers on the kitchen side (which I had planned to do if buying a 2351), but I had never seen one installed on the opposite side before on that model--really gives you a LOT of storage space in your kitchen.  Of course, the arrangement you have on the driver side duplicates the layout I will have in the 2552, so the table installation really caught my eye.  The dual pantry doors are a great idea, and I appreciate the measurements.  That is probably the only solution to clearing the table on that side.  Thank you again for your input!

The supplied PC portable table is really not very friendly. I have seen your model on several RV's, and boats, they make sense. Before we even ordered our PC I determined this is what I'm installing. I haven't got to it yet, should be a good winter project. Your setup is  , so much nicer than setting up a free-standing or pole-supported table.

There are so many undocumented options offered by Phoenix.  It's too bad they don't include them on their interactive pricing feature.  Many people order a PC, not realizing they could have included some especially nice extras.
