2552 Post-walk through Test Plan
« on: May 10, 2018, 07:59:05 pm »
I'm an old test engineer who along with my wife Madonna will be taking delivery on Monday the 14th of our 2552. I am sharing the test plan I created - a spreadsheet - that is derived from our build list, change orders, and watching Earl and Kyle run through their videos. Hopefully, this will help some of you in planning and checking out your new rig. You may not have all that we ordered, but it should help with some ideas. The spreadsheet has 3 tabs:  Inside, sorted from front to rear of rig; Outside, sorted from front to rear of rig; and my original list prior to sorting.

Thank you!  We just found out we'll be picking up our 2552 on the 23rd and this will be most helpful! Appreciate all your work and will be very interested in how you make out on the 14th.
Good luck!

Very nice work.  My wife and I figured you were either an engineer or an auditor based on the completeness of your checklist!!!  As retired auditors, we too use checklists for everything, including loading for trips, setup, and closeup procedures, etc.  We will definitely make use of your checklist when we pick up our unit (no date yet, it has been at paint for two weeks now).  We created a checklist for looking for all ordered options and many other items, during our walk through at PC.  Keep us posted on how your pick up goes next week.

Wow!  Thanks a ton for sharing your hard work!  I've saved a copy of your list and when the time comes for our pick up we'll be studying it closely for sure.

Thanks again and good luck with the whole delivery process!

I will also add my "thanks" for the checklist.  This will be my fourth motorhome, two I purchased new.  Delivery walk through was never detailed and left me with questions.  From what I gather, Phoenix does a good job of PDI.  Still working on the build sheet and in hopes production will start soon.  I also learned that my Microsoft Office 2000 would not open your spreadsheet.  A little "googling" and I found a nice, free download that allowed me to open and print the newer spreadsheets.  Learn something new everyday.

Cheers....

We are trying to estimate our delivery date, our coach is #37. To those taking delivery in May/June, what is your coach number and date? Thanks so much for the very thorough check list, we will put it to good use. - Dick and Chris

Ours is #33 (and has been at paint for 2 weeks). Probably an early June delivery date, based on what they have told us. But we aren't sure if the numbers are sequential or if they are the last two digits if the VIN (my husband's hypothesis).

I may have missed it and if so my apologies. I didn’t see anything on the fridge. You’ll want to check it on propane and electric as well as making sure it switches from one to the other automatically as well as manually.

I searched your "inside" tab for "furnace" but did not find it.  I see you have a heat pump.  Is that in lieu of a furnace?

About the heat registers....make sure you have them and they rotate properly for directional adjustment.  Also make sure hot air blows out of each one adequately.  If one blows very weakly, inspect for a crushed flexible insulated heat duct.  I think the standard furnace requires 3 heat registers to function properly, and I assume model 2552 uses a standard furnace.

Just a short add to Josephs reply, get two thermometers, one for fridge, one for freezer. You should be able to get 0 and 38 at the same time. Make sure the manual safety locks actually work on both refer and freezer.

If you have the reclining sofas that make into beds, make sure the locking mechanism works in both the closed and open positions.

If you have a spare tire, remove it and double check the mount has all the bolts.

Have fun!

Doug
