And yes I know how many more choices there are when not full timing. So for any of you who are full timers - just had a rude awakening on the plans that claim they will replace your coach for the first five model years. I am being told by an independent agent that this does NOT mean it will even be a PC. The insurance company will look for what they consider to be a comparable model sitting on a lot - anywhere, in any state - and as cheap as they can get by and that would me my replacement RV. They do not have to match the options I bought etc. I don't have any say in what company even built it. Certainly a far cry from what Replacement meant in my home insurance and even the car. Just the fact that it would have to be a unit sitting on a lot (and has never been titled to anyone) mostly rules out PC. Getting the cheapest would really end that hope
So besides just belly aching and perhaps enlightening some who had not gotten the details from their insurance -I am asking is there any full timer out there who found an insurance where replacement really meant they had any choice in making sure it was a PC and not some sadly built RV that just happens to be around the same size?
I am also seeing how many insurance companies do not consider the towed vehicle as part of the same claim. If both are damaged in the same incident, even if you use the same company, they will consider them separate and you will pay both deductibles. The fun of it all. Insurance seems to be the biggest PITA of this whole move to FT. Not that I would want to give it up! I thought this was pretty much settled until a couple of questions came up and we got around to the hard truth. Thanks for any input
