I was wondering if there is any interest on the part of Phoenix Cruiser owners, who are members of the PC Forum, for an informal gathering of the clan in the Florida area.

Branson MO is centrally located..............

Branson MO would indeed be a more central gathering area, but the OP had said Florida.

For an 'East Coast' gathering, the factory in Elkhart would be cooler than Branson. (Speaking for myself  :-D ...Not sure if a factory tour is on Mrs V's short list..  :lol ) And using Melbourne FL as my departure point, Elkhart is only ~30 miles further than Branson per google.

Maybe there is a different Branson or Elkhart because I'm showing 628 miles between the two.

2o2 Indeed they are that far apart.  (nod) But to see the relative distance to both from my area, I was using Melbourne FL  as a departure point with the final destination being Branson MO first, then doing the same search but using Elkhart IN as the destination.

 Melbourne to Branson - (1167 miles) https://www.google.com/maps/dir/Melbourne,+FL/Branson,+MO+65616/@32.5574939,-91.4343438,6z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m13!4m12!1m5!1m1!1s0x88de0e2c4771994d:0x8bcdb254a90cd2a8!2m2!1d-80.6081089!2d28.0836269!1m5!1m1!1s0x87cf01e9c1f60ea9:0xf3370960da92ac34!2m2!1d-93.2185144!2d36.6436731

Melbourne to Elkhart - (1197 miles)
https://www.google.com/maps/dir/Melbourne,+FL/Elkhart,+Indiana/@34.5671799,-92.7185543,5z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m13!4m12!1m5!1m1!1s0x88de0e2c4771994d:0x8bcdb254a90cd2a8!2m2!1d-80.6081089!2d28.0836269!1m5!1m1!1s0x8816c2c35be3ae13:0x7aedefd9028388cb!2m2!1d-85.9766671!2d41.6819935

Hopefully that makes it a bit clearer. I did NOT mean to say that Branson and Elkhart were only 30 miles apart, but that the travel to either one from a nominal Florida departure point was about the same distance. Orlando gives similar results (1098 to Branson, 1128 to Elkhart)

..............and there ARE a few Elkharts.. ( I never knew..)

Elkhart, Illinois
Elkhart, Indiana
Elkhart, Iowa
Elkhart, Kansas
Elkhart, Texas

But I did not find any other Branson.  :beg

The "Branson" I initially mentioned is in central/south Missouri, located in the Ozark Mountains.  You are right, it is nowhere near Phoenix USA in Elkhart Indiana.

I didn't mean to be disrespectful and talk-down a Florida gathering.  I only brought up Branson as an alternate place located somewhat central to the continental USA.  Being quite a popular place in the mid-west, and accommodating for RV group gatherings, Branson offers lots of activities for groups of people, especially the over-50 crowd with both flash-back and current-day entertainment, shops-a-plenty, and restaurants-a-plenty for the age group.  People who want to break away from a group activity can easily do something on their own.

I am sorry for any misunderstanding.  Some forum members here have been upset with my suggestion for an alternate location, hitting my "unneighborly" button a lot.  I hope they understand my intention a bit better now.

:beg Damn!  Hardly see calling YOU unneighborly for suggesting a better location a nice response. You are nothing but help in my book  2o2   You are at 284 as I type this, soon to be 285. Thanks again for all the assistance.

Is the factory involved with these rallies or get togethers?

No. The factory is not involved in the Intervec Phoenix Travel Club though in the past Kermit would attend for a few days, speak at the annual meeting about changes, answer questions and help with problems on rigs. Local gatherings would just be get togethers so no factory in those.

The factory is also not involved in this forum, per se. I believe they own it but it is for Phoenix owners and want-to-be owners. It is monitored for inappropriate content and spammers.

Ron, I think most understood what you were referring to. In the middle maybe more could or would attend. I’m with you there and on the same token I guess there will be those that could only attend if it’s in Florida. Only easy answer I can’t think of is should they have a Florida get together of sorts and it’s a hit maybe another year in a diff part of the country .  It’s all good.

I can’t imagine anyone finding you un neighborly. Could be a fumbled finger going for the neighborly and accidentally hitting the other. I know I’ve been known to fumble now and again in darn near everything I do.

We are in central Kentucky and would be very interested in a campout with fellow PC owners!  I would love to see a gathering more to people that are serious about attending!
Timing and location would be a major factor.

Escapees, FMCA and Laze Daze owners have regional groups that get together occasional, have PC owners considered such groups for regions they live in?

We will be attending the Duluth rally and would be very much interested in an unofficial get together; just not in Florida. No offense to anyone intended!

Coastal Carolina's or one of the Tennessee lakes (kayaking) would be nice. I really like Ron's Branson idea! Someplace CENTRALLY LOCATED would attract the most PC owners, and potential volunteers to help organize the event.

My 2¢,

Bill

Since these gatherings are organized by one or more volunteers I don’t see why a gathering couldn’t be planned at any place at anytime. However, those where one could expect the largest number of participants would be such as Florida during the January through March timeframe having been suggested by ROO.  I am somewhat familiar with the Casita gathering and there are numerous ones organized across the country each year.  Speaking of Florida I attended a rally at Stephen Foster state park a few years ago.  As I recall it was held in February.

Maybe I am oversimpling this but to get this started is for someone to agree to take the lead and if needed ask for volunteer(s) to help plan time and location and other details.  Determining a suitable campground that could handle the expected number of participants would be the most challenging task.  We have stayed at some Federal and State parks in Florida and have found getting a reservation challenging.  Perhaps there are other campgrounds that have yet to be discovered by the snowbirds that could accommodate a gathering.
