Twin bed headboard
« on: July 22, 2017, 12:04:06 pm »
So the headboard just fell off, was held on by a few staples.
Not having such a staple gun as Phoenix need another method to reattach.
Anyone do this already or have a suggestion?
Thanks.

Hi randallandchris,

I checked to see if you owned a twin bed model and so I was going to suggest doing the same to the other head board so they match.  But I see in your profile you own a 2400.  A 2400 has a headboard?

Regardless, this comes to-mind.  The hardware will show so "decorative" is the key.

Buy decorative brass washers and mating brass screws.  Measure well and pre-drill so they are positioned in a nice looking manner.
Sorry about the size of the pictures, but I don't know how to control the size of pictures found on the web.

These are decorative washers that you can buy at any hardware store.

If you want something more decorative, do some internet shopping.  I did a quick search and found these.

Thanks Ron, nice idea.
Trick will be to keep the fabric and foam away from the drill bit and screw so don't catch and spin.
Attached pic, we wanted permanent beds and of course PC accommodated us.

Can you just get some strong glue, like construction adhesive or gorilla glue and glue them to the wall? I don't know what the back is like.

I would put them in place with either strong double sided tape (we use this all the time for things in the RV) or get the Heavy Duty 3M Velcro. We have used the command strips for an overhead weather station and it has held strong for five years.
