2552 slide seal jamming
« on: June 08, 2017, 08:57:43 pm »
Has anyone had this problem? A rubber seal (I think it's a seal) has come loose and is jamming the slide at about the half-way point when moving the slide out. Here is a picture.

I sent this picture to Kermit and asked his opinion, but haven't heard anything back.

Sure can see why it is jamming!  I was going to suggest some baby powder as that is about the best lubricant for the rubber seals to keep them soft, pliable and slippery but I am afraid your situation is beyond what baby powder can fix.  Will be interesting to see what Kermit has to say. Ron G.

This happened to me with my 2012 2553. The seal was glued down to the floor and the adhesive failed.

PC fixed it no charge. But it took 4 hours and the have to remove the slide, refer and dinette.
They put the new seal in with screws.

Ugh. I hope my RV repair guy is up for this. No email yet from Kermit. Is he out of town?

My repair guy was up to the challenge. He cut out the old seal (except for about a foot at each end) and attached a new seal to the slide opening, inside the coach under the slide. Now when the slide is in, it seals against the seals on the outside. When it's out, it seals against the new seal and the seals that surround the slide. Only $600 too.
