Replacement Sani Con impeller
« on: May 18, 2017, 04:54:33 pm »
The impeller on our Sanicon Model 5800-6004-HB deteriorated and disintegrated this winter while in Florida.  After reading many forums I concluded that this is not an uncommon occurrence.  I finally got around to fixing it (90 minutes from start to finish).  I ordered Thetford part no 70477 impeller kit.  It included an instruction sheet, the impeller and two gaskets.   It was difficult to find online and the cheapest price that I was able to find was $53.  Thetford wanted $71.

Now for the good news.  For anyone that has this same Sanicon model and needs to replace the impeller it is manufactured by Jabsco USA and the part number is 6303-0003.  There are many different sources for this impeller including many of the local marine shops and I have seen them as low as $16.  Some are actually sold as kits to include gaskets and "O" rings.

Now for a little bad news.  The gaskets that came with the kit were not an exact fit and would require a little modification to work properly.

Barry,

Our PC's original Sanicon was ejecting those rubber impeller blades a few yers back and so I had initially considered rebuilding it after learning how much a new one cost.  At the time rebuild kits were quite expensive.  I later found a close copy replacement pump very cheap.  My story about it is HERE.  Today sold on Ebay, the same pump is branded under many different names, still in the $60 price range.  So far so good with our macerator pump.

For what it's worth.
