Damaged luggage rack
« on: April 26, 2017, 07:14:34 pm »
While backing up I caught a limb on the luggage rack almost dead center. It bent the horizontal bar forward about six inches ripping the vertical support from the roof.  (the one left of centerline) with slight damage to one on the right.  My intentions are to remove entirely the rack upon return from my trip leaving 28 April.  The silver lining in this dark cloud is there was no damage to camera or the fiberglass house, only the rack itself with roof damage where it broke loose from roof.  I plan to apply dicor or appropriate sealant to the damaged areas.  I can check with factory, but does anyone know how the rack is attached/removed to/from roof?  I am also open to suggestions on how to do temporary repair to prevent leakage for the time being.  I don't have time remove prior to departure.  Thanks

Larry

It's just bolted. When removed Dicor works great. Won't leak.
