Dinette bed size
« on: March 22, 2017, 10:19:09 am »
Hello,  For the life of me, I cannot find any stats on the length of the dinette when it becomes a bed.  All I have heard is that it is big enough for a small child, and that different models have different size dinettes.  We are most interested in the 2100.  Anyone able to help us?

I have the 2100 with slide and electric couch. If you are considering the no slide with jackknife sofa situation would be slightly different. My RV was just dropped off to be serviced this morning so not available to measure.  You could call Earl at the factory and get some exact measurements.

I'm 5' and have used the dinette as a bed for myself and found it to be very comfortable.  Would not have wanted to be much taller. In one situation we could not put the slide out so hubby was on dinette and I (long ways) on the couch extended out to meet dinette.  Worked in an emergency situation. He is 5'6" but generally curls up to sleep.

Some things to keep in mind when using the dinette as a bed:
Make sure it comes with the extra cushion to fill in where seat cushion goes.
Put your head at the cab end otherwise you get furnace and fridge noise all night.
If people are also on couch you get feet in face syndrome.
If using both electric couch and dinette as beds on a regular basis, you need more bedding and a place to store it.

Thank you.  That was helpful.  If anyone has :) the actual measurements, please do chime in. :)

RheaNL, picking up our 2100 in a couple of days.Where do you store the extra cushion for the dinette to bed conversion?
Jack is what we call our PC 2351D, and he has taken us from campers to RV'ers and loving it. We're no longer Team Bob. Just Jack the RV!

Under the table. Hard to explain without photos, but...
there is a small ledge by the wall extending between benches that is carpeted (the width of a 12 pack of Coke--maybe 6"-- which we stand on end). I have a small crate in front of that where we store other extra beverages/water and it holds the Coke in place, leaving room for us when we are seated at the dinette. Next to the Coke on the ledge I wedge the extra cushion. Unless we are on a long trip, we usually have extra space in the cabinets over the table and it and beverages go in there.

Very exciting to almost be at the finish line.  Hope you love yours as much as we love ours.

You can see the ledge here in my old 2350 with no-slide.  I think it is a wiring channel boxed over and carpeted.  It's hard to tell it is a ledge and not carpet running up the wall like baseboard.

Got our Sweet Ride back from shop today. So, here are the stats and some photos.
When made into bed, it is 71" by 32".
The carpet shelf which Ron showed in his photo is 5"+ wide. The 2100 dinette has a different leg configuration. The photo I posted has a larger crate than I use. It was on hand to demonstrate. The extra chushion (needed to fill in for the shorter back cushion behind passenger seat) is behind crate and then we stand the 12 packs of sodas behind crate on ledge. That crate is great and I will start a thread on "Tips" about it.
