euro chairs

We were wondering how comfortable the euro chairs are. We are ordering a 2400 and think these chairs will give us lots of flexibility in our living space but wondered how comfortable these are or if there are other options that you all like better. Thanks for your comments

We have the Euro chair in our 2552 and find it very comfortable.  It has the ability to recline and has a flip up foot rest.  With the felt pad on the bottom it is easy to slide around and place the chair where desired.

They are the most comfortable chairs that I have ever sat in. They even beat my recliner at home! As Fred said, they are very easy to move around.

Hi Candy,

Please understand this.  Unlike swivel/reclining captain seats, you cannot sit in the euro seats when the vehicle is moving.  Captain seats are permanently bolted down and have DOT-approved seat belts.  Euro chairs are anchored down with a removable clamp and do not have seat belts, so nobody should sit in them when the vehicle is being driven.

We do not have a euro chair so I don't know what I am missing, so please consider it with my next point.  I hope it draws opinions from other PC owners.  If you don't get a slideout, get the captain seats for they stay-put and offer more floor space, a plus with the limited floor space.  If you get a slideout and don't need to transport people in those seats, get the euro chairs.  Would the rest of the PC community agree, or is my point invalid?

Tom enjoys the Euro chair after a day of driving. He flips up the foot rest and get instant T-Rex in his lap for a cat and Tom nap..  Spin the passenger sear around and you have an elevated foot rest.

Love my Euro chair. Went back and forth between 2551 and the 2552 and the Euro  chair was the determining factor.

We also love the Euro chair in our 2552.

But when I sit in it while eating at the small TV type table that we bring along, I need to place a pillow or two behind my back to sit more upright comfortably.  When the foot rest is closed down the chair back is still angled back a little.  I don't know if that would be a problem for you as a chair for the small table in the 2400.

My experience is somewhat different than those previously stated.  The downward/rounded  armrests are not as comfy as I would like.  I would have preferred a high-back as well, similar to a reclining (no footrest) swiveling office chair.  The footrest extended does not support my legs very well.  I bought Pc used  and it had the euro already otherwise I would have passed.  It is easy to slide around to different positions and I use it for sure.  I am planning an April/May trip out west and may replace it with a modified office type chair with the felt pads allowing it to be moved about the house.

Seating is a very personal issue. We do not happen to like the euro chairs as much as others who have commented. My wife does not think they are comfortable and I find them adequate but nothing special. We have a 2400 and we typically leave one of the euro chairs at home when we travel. Space is at a premium in th 2400 especially with the bed set up and even after 5 years we still have issues  with where we place the chairs at night. We love the overall size and setup of the 2400, but the euro chair is not  one of our favorite features.

Hello Candy,

We had the Euro Chair in our first Phoenix cruiser but chose to switch to permanently mounted captains chairs for our current 2910.
The Euro chair is comfortable but we prefer the fixed captains chairs with the adjustable arm rests. We had them in our 2003 Born Free and REALLY liked them, the ultra leather fabric is very soft and comes in a multitude of colors.

The Captains chairs shown in our coach are Flexsteel brand, they slide front to back, swivel and recline, they can also be ordered with lumbar support.

The footprint for the captain chairs is smaller than the Euro chair as well.

I agree seating is a personal thing, there are benefits to both styles.

Hi Dave. I was about to do a search because I remember seeing a post showing that cool little table lamp. Can you tell me where you bought it, and is it battery powered or electric.
Great looking PC.
Thanks

Hi Nancy,

That famous little lamp is electric. I purchased two of them at a local department store here in Lancaster County PA.

My Wife and Children like to make fun of my little lamps............it's the first thing I set out when we set up camp :)

Every time my wife and I travel I take a picture of that lamp and text it to our children. It's our way of letting everyone know we arrived at our destination safely  :)

Well, I'm new on here but just returned from the Tampa rv show, and one of my priorities was to check out the Euro chairs.  I am very particular about a recliner, and I found them to be pretty comfortable, nothing special like someone said or cushy, but something I could certainly live with.  I wish I could have checked out the captain's chairs in the other post but never saw those there.  On another note, I guess many like the two-piece recliner Phoenix uses in their couch, but I found that to be a bit convoluted with the extra step, having to pull out the footrest first, etc...  much prefer a smooth one-piece unit that all comes out at once when you recline.  But, it was comfortable enough.

I haven't had a couch with a foot rest that comes up on its own so I can't truly compare but I have found that the Phoenix double reclining couch works well for us. You do have to pull it out yourself and then recline the couch to make a bed but I can partially recline the couch to keep my head raised and still have the foot rest fully out to support my feet. I don't notice the little gap this leaves between couch seat and footrest while sleeping. My weight doesn't rest in that spot. I also like to pull out the foot rest then push it back in to touch the slightly reclined couch for lounge lizard time. I don't lock it out, just lift it up and lock into the upright position then slide it back toward the couch. I find this gives me the chair recliner type setup without blocking as much of the floor space. John can easily move through and around the living room and I have a comfy lounge spot. I don't know how the one piece couches would work in that situation.
